No he’s got as long as he wants within reason. As of midnight he’s a free agent but can still turn out for Trinity on a match basis if both parties agree. Then he will have to wait and see if the offers come flooding in and if they don’t then he’ll have to hope Trinity’s offer is still open.
It’s risky for a player but if he wants to back himself then so be it. Let’s face it we don’t know what offers are out there.

Watching how Josh Drinkwater's playing, I wouldn't be surprised if Hull kr do!

If they rate him higher than we do wage wise, then so be it, frankly never rated Drinkwater. Interesting though that he’s another player who hung on and on for a better deal and it hasn’t worked out.
That said I do rate Hampshire a lot higher both as a player and individual though it’s fairly subjective as I’ve never met either.

Unless the club has told him to make a decision? Lets not forget it works both ways, as of tomorrow the club are free to speak to players OOC, the longer we leave it to look for a replacement the harder we are going to find it.

| I really like Hampshire and I feel he could be a massive part of the future of the team if he signs but there does seem to have always been an element of Wakefield not being good enough for him or there has been a certain reluctance, at least as I have perceived it, to be a Wakefield player. Wakefield has probably given him more game time than Castleford or Wigan. He probably has the support of more people here than he did at both those clubs yet he doesn't exactly seem to be jumping at the opportunity that has been handed to him, especially when the likes of Fifita have pledged their future. I could be totally wrong in that perception. Just my two penneth. Think Ryan is a cracking player though and I actually do think he has the ability to be one of super league's best fullbacks with a tweaking of his game.

He’a not a free agent, he is under contract until the end of the season whatever. The deadline is purely club placed as to whether he accepts their new offer or not. Clubs have been able to talk to out of contract players since 1st May, so if he declines then we need to move quickly to secure a replacement, although feelers will likely be have been out already.

Fair enough, either way he can carry on playing and won’t turn into a pumpkin at midnight

My thoughts exactly. I really thought he would have jumped at the chance of a longer contract, but perhaps the thoughts of getting more money elsewhere may explain his reluctance to sign.
Good player and I wish he'd sign, but if not, the club is much bigger than RH and we move on.

I've never met Drinkwater but Hamsh is a lovely lad, no edge to him and has time for everyone, a great lad.

| I really don't understand how people think they can judge a person's personality by a snippet of information. Especially if that is that they just haven't signed a contract yet. Who knows what is holding it up? It might just be fine details in a contract that mean a lot to him. But even if it is more money, that's a choice that we would all make. He doesn't have to want to play for a club just because you support them, and it doesn't mean he is any kind of mercenary if he goes to more than one club.

He, along with every other player, has to do what he believes is best for him and there will be multiple reasons for the choice thet he makes.
Equally, Trinity, have to make their own plans and if they deem that they have given him sufficient time to sign on the dotted line, they too will need to make their own choice.
As you say, nobody on here will be privy to the detail and nor should they be.
It would be great if he stays as he's an exciting player and still young but, if he moves on there is nothing we can do about it and we will soon be cheering on his replacement.

I'm sure we'll find out sooner rather than later.
