| Wasn't it Eric France, his father, who was involved as a sponsor?

That was out of his own mouth when we were sat next to him at last years game against Wigan in the play off's, we were sat at the same table as him in the banqueting area, a very pleasant man to talk to.

| Didn't he want to buy the club from Ted Richardson at one point? That would have ended well.

| I always believed it to be Eric who was the main reason for the sponsorship. Once he retired and passed thing on to Jonathan was when things started to go wrong with the company.
Whatever has happened now, at the time they paid us a large amount per season and I have been told that what they paid was and still is the most we have received from an individual sponsor per season. Loosing that sponsorship money was the start of things falling apart under Glover.

| It wasn't the only reason, but it certainly did not help the cause. Also discounted season tickets would not of helped too, and neither would outsourcing catering.
They owed us a lot of money, which, at the time could have paid off a few creditors, especially bearing in mind, the cleaning company that came on board with sponsorship afterwards, didn't start until part way through the 2013 season.
Could have saved the club from some of the outstanding debts from 2012, that ran into 2013, which would have also saved on some late payment fees.
One thing during this time, that looking back now, although I liked him as a player, and a person, as, at the time we had no major income from our main sponsor, and there was no relegation the following season, if it were me, I would have pulled out of the Justin Poore signing, to offset some of the financial shortfalls, and then maybe strengthened the front row, once a new sponsor had been agreed.

| Think it was during Teds time, Eric France company were main shirt sponsor , they paid up initial stage payment, all shirts and merchandise produced with company logo etc then Jonathan France reneged on remaining payments, think he owed club £ 60,000 from memory. Comforting in a schadenfreude sort of way that he is now locked up in a cell playing Mummy and Daddy, from the look of him he will be Mummy

Don’t kid yourself. The club was loosing 750k a year by 2013. Eric France was 100k. It was a small factor.

| Out of curiosity DC, is the payments made into the club by AG reflected within the £750k. He did pay quite a bit into the club during my time there.
The small factor of £100k would probably have gone a long way towards some of the unpaid creditors at that time.

If that is the case then it wasn't exactly a drop in the ocean but not as much of a contributing factor as I thought.
