| In Fifita's post match interview he says Kirmond doesn't think he should be captain next year.
Fifita says everybody wants him to stay on so is likely to do so, but if he didn't, who would you choose.
It's Finn for me.
He's the rock the team is built on.
Fifita Grix and Arona seem like leaders in their own right. Keegan too.
But Finn is the steadying influence for me.

| Finn appears to be organising things in and setting up attacking options.
Grix has matured and could be a contender.
Matty Ashurst sets a high level of professionalism that could rub off

| Ashurst is almost a like for like replacment for Kirmond for me and could go on to be our Captain for as many year as Danny in the future.
.Finn wouldn't be a bad shout either tbh. He's a quality player with a calm head about him but he's got enough on his plate maybe with the duties he already has.
Let Big Bave be Big Dave

| Ideally a 80minute man for the job, so Finny or Ashirst would be a good shout for me, that's if they want the job.

| Finn is an obvious candidate but, how many seasons does he have left in him ?
Grix would be my choice for now, although, we could co for co captains Fifita, Finn and maybe Hirst, who would make a great captain in the long term and he certainly seemed popular when he scored on Saturday !

| Ashurst - the guy is a model professional and always seems calm and in control; he handled yet another example of Wigan niggling on Saturday by laughing at the offender, and getting on with the game. One of the best signings we've made in years in terms of RoI, and a natural replacement for Kirmond.

| I agree about Hirst long term.
I don't disagree about Ashurst but as I've said before I don't really see it. (To be fair I didn't see it in Kirmond either)
Dave needs a captain to control him not be the captain.
I'd be happy with Grix.
If you look at the players they listen to Big Dave, and Finn and Grix.
That tells you a lot.

| Maybe Big Dave just needs his own handler - someone who has the specific task of keeping him at the appropriate level of radged in any given situation?!
A bit like the job that Black Widow does with The Hulk - without the skin tight leather cat-suit.

| I think Ashurst would be a good choice.
You could go completely left field though and go with Batchelor. He certainly has the potential.

| I have never read as much drivel in my life, so why should ashurst be the next captain, because he got our man of steel, absolute nonesense. What experience of been a leader have I missed?

NONE but the way he goes about things reminds me of when we had Gareth Ellis who turned out quiet well.

| Sorry mr bliss but I don't see any comparison at all, yes he's a very good second rower but a future captain don't see it. My choice for what's it worth would be grix or maybe Finn for a seasons

| I thought Horo seemed to be having a rant and barking out some instructions during the last few games where I've paid attention. Maybe a future possibility?
