| I am a new poster but i do represent 9 supporters who go regularly to the club on match days, we all from time to time come on here and read about what is new and happening at the club, and universally do not wish to leave Wakefield to watch our beloved Trinity.
and see as the dangers of moving Wakefield Trinity as follows.
Too much uncertainty if the club is moved!
Could lead to the developer doing nothing!
W.M.D.C Could also welcome not having to commit monies to a community stadium and be happy with just one super league club in the district.
What assurances have we from the R.F.L that if a move takes place that they would allow a move back into Wakefield as they are already again looking to outsource franchises?
Danger of losing fans.
Danger to our community program which we have spent years money and time over.
Danger to schools programs and partnerships.
Damage to junior development ( Which kids commit their future to a team outside the area as against say Castleford?
Couldn't a proper fans survey determine support for such a move? and if say as speculated in the Sun last Thursday by Mr Carter (a round trip of 38 miles!or at least a public meeting called?if its going to be a wexit should we have a referendum?
Everyone concerned as seen on here has tried very hard to get a community stadium of that there is not doubt but the wisdom of moving as against remaining and spending monies and not losing fans and their precious cash must be considered surely?
How many more people would come to spectate if they weren't told that Belle Vue was a dump and not fit for purpose.
Come on fans lets put pride back into our home. lobbying every one concerned that we are staying.

| I understand your emotional issues but I think you are overlooking the elephant in the room - the RFL won't let us stage SL games at Belle Vue next season.

| When have the RFLsaid we can't play at Belle Vue next season. Mr Carter has said he won't be responsible for safety therefore we have to move unless the owners do necessarily work which so far they have shown no inclination to do. I understand that i

| I believe we could stay at Belle Vue but notwithstanding the mentioned safety issues Super League has imposed minimum standards which Belle Vue fails to meet on a number of counts such as capacity, seats, floodlights just to mention a few. Failing to meet these standards results in massive financial penalties which means a big reduction in funding.
We already operate on a much reduced budget compared to most if not all other SL clubs so a massive reduction in central funding would mean that we would be unable to compete in SL with the inevitable consequences.

| Dewsbury is also out of the question if we use the same criteria unless money is spent to upgrade.

Perhaps M Carter knows the work required and the costs involved in respect of each stadium and the stadium he decides to move to makes better financial sense than staying at Belle Vue.
If he has, I think it would be beneficial to produce some basic figures and then everyone can see the full implications of trying to remain at Belle Vue.
In my opinion Belle Vue is a lost cause and I wish everyone would accept that and get behind the club. If the vast majority of fans were prepared to give the move a fair trial then at least we would have a better chance of it working.

Prince Buster has already said it but I understand from Michael Carter that Belle Vue would cost substantialy more to meet those standards than Dewsbury. Also the rent was increased on Belle Vue so its a possibilty the rent on Dewsbury would be cheaper and the facilities there including training facilities are far superior to Belle Vue.

According to MC the financial penalty would be betwwen 30k and 100k, although not all that is down to the ground alone. Given the highly likely drop off in attendances, matchday income and sponsorship would likely exceed that then i'm not sure i can see the basis for moving for that alone.
Yes BV would take money to be spent to bring it up to standard and this would be more than at BV but in a radio interview last week MC stated words to the effect 'you don't mind spending money on something you own, but not when you don't. Surely then this would rule out Dewsbury as we wouldn't own that either and theirs no way they are going to sell us their only asset.
According to the league express we have ruled out Featherstone without any real negotiation so we are leaving the Wakefield area. I guess this is to make the impact of leaving BV on the council and developer greater. Personally i think it gives a bigger stick to beat us with but whichever way you feel is best staying within WMDC was bever going to be an option.
So for me there is only two courses of action that make MC's stance make sense. Firstly it's pure brinkmanship in the hope that it along with the threat of legal action shocks the other parties into action. Secondly is that we move to a ground that is already superleague standard so we get full funding for minimal outlay. We then fight in couty ftom there. Should we also get favourable rent terms even better, so i would think moving to somewhere like Oakwell would be unlikely. They would also be concerned about their pitch, see the Wigan and Hull shenanigans recently. We are apparently talking to several clubs. Given the governing body own the lease on a ground outside superleague i wouldn't ve surprised if that is the current favourite.

He did say that there had been a slight increase for this year but we were only paying 50k i believe last year as opposed to 120k previously. I doubt any rent reduction would be that much, what might make a difference is day to day ground maintance costs would be much reduced.

| I see sacred cow has touched upon the rumour going around that Odsal could be an alternative solution.
To me that would be a non runner is just a bigger version of the Belle Vue dump. If you want to watch rugby in crap surroundings with crap facilities why go to Odsal for a bigger version of the same crap. Can't see such a move happening myself.

Whilst i agree entirely given the who the lease holder is whats the betting that Odsal is miraculously superleague standard?
