| Was really impressed with Featherstone's facilities yesterday. Can't understand why Trinity would move their "home" games into Kirklees when surely their local WMDC neighbours have more to offer.

If we moved to Fev then Box would say we already have a stadium in Wakefield and he could then justify giving us absolutely nothing more. At least being forced to move outside Wakefield would cause the council some embarrassment. However I think Dewsbury although 100yds outside the wmdc is still nearer to Waket than Fev.

Because dewsburys ground is close to Wakefield than Fev and Dewsbury don't have any rivalry with us compared to Fev. As for WMDC it's a council run by inbreds no loyalty to them.
Love the City
Hate the council

| I read how badly we have been treated by the council but, we all agree that the ground at Featherstone is far superior to ours but yet I don't believe that have benefited greatly from large chunks of public money. They instead of blaming others upgraded their ground themselves rather than letting it slowly fall down. They even managed to level the playing surface, not a requirement at Belle Vue.
I would guess we prefer Dewsbury because it is not in WMDC due to the fact that like some on here it as become a matter of pride with the club the means to prove a point.
I believe the 30 day deadline set by the club must have been reached so I expect we all look forward to a full update of what is going on to we can decide if we want to invest in a season ticket.

Apart from having negligible hospitality, an undersized pitch, (which hasn't been levelled BTW), being a ground that they actually own (so can safely invest in), and having loads of space around the ground that can be developed, then yeah, 100% correct.
As has been pointed out already, if we have a "home" in "Wakefield", WMDC will use it to further wriggle out of their obligations.

A move to Luton wouldn't be far enough to cause WMDC some embarrassment.

| Aside from a football stand they nicked from a liquidated amateur club, Fev's ground is awful. It's on a chuffin slope for starters.

| Even if there was money to develop Belle Vue I still think it would be a Folly to spend it on the place. The whole area of Belle Vue is a run down mess and it should embarrass the City. I hate going down there and if it was not for the ground I wouldn't go anywhere near it. I know Cas has its dodgy areas but nothing like Belle Vue and Agbrigg. I bet Box would not allow a ghetto like that in his beloved Cas.

I don't think Box gives a flying fig about Wakefield and anyone in it, You have only to look at MyWakefield the councils twitter page and the photograph on the welcome page. No its not the Hepworth or chantry chapel not even the new council building Wakefield one. Its the bloody foot bridge over the river at Castleford

| Could it simply come ddown to finance and the benefits Wakefield get out of Dewsbury say rather than Featherstone.
We may have been offered rental at both but a cheaper rent at Dewsbury. There could be other benefits involved.
Michael Carter is no mug.

| They will also be absolved of any responsibility for running a sports ground. We of course have to live with the decision whatever that turns out to be.

| Belle Vue is the oldest dedicated rugby league ground in the world now that what I call iconic, not some converted rubbish tip in Bradford
The history of the ground, the team and it's achievements over 140 years are being abandoned shame on Box and his cronies
