Backwards!!! Our wingers have been getting pelters because we have lacked an experienced centre inside them. Not sure how Smith instead of Lyne or Arundel is backwards.

I saw the article and thought it might be a good fit. Second thoughts were ...
We don't know how game ready he is and someone needs to be effective pretty quickly.
I don't know how he would feel about returning but he seems eager to put himself in the shop window so would need to make some impact.
We don't know what Brian Smith's plans are. He might already be sorting something out.
Doesn't really give us a long term solution.

Good short term investment. When he first joined Trinity he made a good impression. He did fade somewhat towards the end, but if he is anywhere near match fit I would risk signing him.

As said Lee Smith if near match fit may be a decent signing if at the right price for a centre spot but if unfit and carrying 'some timber' it may be too late to get him match fit and embedded into the team for the Middle 8's.
He can't be demanding big money at his age released from Rugby Union surely?
