| Dewsbury have turned down an approach from MC to speak to Morrison. Looks like he is out of the reckoning then...

| A shame. One of the few candidates around I'd have faith in restoring some credibility to the club.

| From Dewsburys website...
Dewsbury Rams chairman Mark Sawyer has issued the following statement regarding an approach from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats for Head Coach Glenn Morrison.
"Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Chairman Michael Carter contacted me on Tuesday to ask for permission to speak to Glenn Morrison.
"I can understand his interest but I declined his request, having decided it just wasn't the right time for Dewsbury to make a change.
"I didn't speak to Glenn before making the decision but spoke to him straight after and he understands the situation.
"He has aspirations to be a Super League coach but we've got an outside chance of making the top four, so It just wasn't the right time to allow the coach to go.
"Wakefield have a battle on their hands to stay up and I wish them all the best, but we have our own challenge and objectives for the season.
"I can also confirm that Glenn was approached for another job prior to this.
"The club would have received significant compensation for that but he decided not to take the offer.
"But this is first time a Super League club has been interested in Glenn's services.
"And whilst Michael Carter was keen to speak to Glenn, there was no mention of a formal offer - so no guarantee of a job.
"Michael understood our stance and confirmed he won't be looking to approach Glenn directly which I appreciate.
"I have no problem with people phoning up and doing things right way, like Michael has this week, but, on this occasion, it had to be a 'no'."
Morrison takes his players to the Summer Bash in Blackpool on Sunday, where they will face Batley Bulldogs (12.45pm).

| So the ball is now in GM's court, if he wants to have a go for it, then it is up to him.

| As expected really. If Glen Morrison is doing a good job then he is going to be in demand.

| Reads as though Bradford tried to get hold of him. Obviously James Lowes doesn't mind being 2nd choice.

Lowes was hired last year when Bradford were still in Super League. The Chairman's statement says Wakefield are the "first Super League" club to show interest. My guess is that London may have been the club who made the previous approach.

| If Morrison want to come he will and there is nothing Dewsbury can say or do.

| For a young coach like Morrison who has built up a strong reputation at Dewsbury I think he'd been taking a bit of gamble to take on the Wakefield club right now. If he didn't manage to keep you up then the knives would probably be out once again and it might well set his career further back. I'm sure he'd be a good SL coach but if he's patient there will probably be options further down the track that would be better.
