| Yet another home fixture for Wigan is televised on Sky. Yet again pre-match there is a camera shot to Billy Boston with Eddie Hemmings telling us that Billy Boston is here.
Yet I don't recall any camera shots showing Neil Fox in attendance at Belle Vue when we are televised. I often see him at BV so I know he is there. Do Sky not appreciate the fact that Neil is the highest points scorer of all time in RL? Surely that is a significant enough achievement to be acknowledged as much as Boston's contribution? No disrespect to Boston but this seems like another piece of Wigan love-in from the Sky team. I'm pretty sick of it. Either treat like with like or don't bother mentioning either.
(BTW I'm happy for them not to mention either, but this love-in makes me sick.)

| Completely agree.
These TV companies are run by intelligent people - why can they not see how bloody useless these two clowns are. Stevo a minute before kick off when they had changing room camera said 'ted'. Comeon , these are two men who in normal life would be sat at home with their pipe and slippers dribbling into their cocoa.
What really gets my goat is that a lot of money and technology is used with the ref microphone - but they won't let us listen to the ref because they don't know when to shut up.
The commentary crew of Bill Arthur/Barry/and Tez was incredibly refreshing on Saturday on the Cas/ Catalans game and we were also able to hear Thaler refereeing the game which was very entertaining. I should write a letter to Sky but of course it would be a waste of time.
Neil Fox is a legend - Eddie and Stevo are not.

| Fergus I suspect it is as much to do with the editor/director than the commentators. The camera points to Billy Boston - queue - "oh look the Wigan legend Billy Boston is here" swoon!
Fair points about the commentary too but I think the point I'm making is about the entire production team.

| What a load of self pitying drivel even for us, no wonder Leeds fans goad us as a small town club.
I've seen and heard Neil Fox mentioned loads of times but he would be as he attends every match - Boston possibly doesn't.
Neil Fox was interviewed in 2006 by Sky as to who should take over as coach from Smith - it was instrumental in Kear signing up - how reverential do you need them to be to the great man!
Come on lets drop the poor little us stuff.

| When I saw this thread I thought someone had trawled through the archives to our halcyon days.
It was just before my time unfortunately, however, as a young lad just starting work, a bloke who “mentored” me was of the opinion that whenever Wakefield played Wigan, Boston was put in the centres to intimidate Big Neil & he was adamant it usually paid off.
Not sure of the truth as he was the biggest wind-up merchant in Christendon .

| Maybe it's much simpler than that, maybe they can't pick N Fox out in the murky lights of the East stand?

That's exactly what I was thinking. He doesn't sit at the front so would be hard to see if you didn't know where he was.
Always sits with Ian Brooke. They'd have loads of great footage of those two playing together if they knew.

Fully agree on this.
He was on Super League Supermen last year as well.
I'm going to go with the theory on the lighting at BV in the main stand. The shot would look awful on TV, especially at night!
It's a silly argument anyway, both are great legends of the sport, and it's great to see any of them on TV looking fit and well.

One example of that was the 1960 top four play off final at Odsal, Foxy went over in the corner in the first few minutes and we led 3-0 Boston then dead legged him he took no further part and we lost 27-3.

It was Bazzo, he took the wife to that game on his honeymoon, he said he remembers it well because he found a half crown whatever that is on the floor going into the ground, he does not need any excuse to talk about the good old days'.
