If Cas finish top well done to em but I think that just sums up this years competition. When players like Dorn and Sneyd are made to look world class shows how weak SL has been. I'm expecting one of Clark and Shenton to win MOS because they have been stand outs.

If they do win then they'll deserve it, but the lls has been progressively devalued to the point where the top teams don't care about it any more. A bit like when we won the last Yorkshire cup and the way the challenge cup is going.
It will be a great achievement and I wish it was us, but it will be done by winning the fewest games ever. The lls winning team usually wins 21 or 22 games. Cas would only won 18 or 2/3 of them.
Is the lls being awarded next year? If so when? After 23 rounds or after the extra 7?
Mainly, it just raises the bar on our rivalry. We now have to win something, rather than just avoid relegation or scrape into the play-offs.

What I am inclined to say is 'how the hell have they done it?'
They have no more 'star' players than us, the remainder would struggle to get into the likes of Wigan and Leeds, so what's their secret?
Whatever it is we desperately need some of it at Belle Vue!

To answer my own question I think it's a bit like the 1966 England World Cup winning team when Alf Ramsey picked some very odd and unpopular players but turned them into a 'team'

Powell, a town that backs them, a few stand out players and an excellent team spirit with a smattering of local pride in the team.

Man management in pro sport is better than technique or game plans.
If you can convince people that they can do something, they will usually succeed.

Many of the modern coaches know their stuff, like Agar, McNamara, Cullen etc BUT, can they inspire people to perform.
Powell has done a superb job, just as he did at Fev.

IF Cas win the "hub cap" do we really want Cas fans gloating for the next millennium, I certainly don't.

That attitude says a lot about the folk you mention. We should stay well out of the gutter and contratulate our near neighbours on a fantastic season that could well end on an even higher plane.
