I know the all knowledgeable club groupies will tell me I'm wrong - but as usual I'm not.

Unless I heard it wrong the attendance was given as 5,100 - if I'm wrong I apologise.

If it was then NEVER in this world was that correct. Over 6,000 IMO possibly more.

How I know:

1: All my fave parking spots full.

2: It simply looked way more than half full (by that I mean the old 10,000 figure).

3: It took an age to leave and it was a bit tight getting there.

I don't demand an announcement from the club by the way, because I'm happy even if they appear to be fibbing.

I said 6,000 before it was announced. Very surprised at only 5,100.

It’s difficult to gauge due to the varying figures given previously, however on the departing note, it’s always more difficult after a close game due to few supporters leaving early.

I reckon it's hard to tell after the inflated attendances during the Glover regime, if you're comparing it to that.

The ground looked pretty full, but I dont think its hard for Belle Vue to look full when you consider the limited space for spectators down two sides of the ground (western terrace and benidorm flats).

However for the club groupies it's totally impossible for the to conceive that the new regime is going the other way - there is good reason for both I accept.

Regardless of yesterday's attendance, the number of home fans is mickey poor.
We have 2000 s/t holders and we're getting around 300 home fans at each game.
Now that Agar has gone, we need to encourage the 1500 or so fans that have gone "missing", to come back and support the club.
The East stand wasn't even half full yesterday and credit due to FC, they brought significant numbers.

I was sat in the East Stand and I think the attendance read out was a fair reflection. From my viewing position there were lots of empty spaces on the terrace in front and I had a good position to see the North Stand.

I agree Wrencat, I think our home support at the moment is very poor indeed. Whilst I was overseas last week I was shocked to hear how low the crowd was against Wigan.

Wigan, Hull (x2 clubs), Cas and Leeds tend to be our big crowd matches. With Leeds on Friday we need a really big crowd. Otherwise I think it is a sign that the club has lost a fair bit of the "faithful" for a long time to come.

I will repeat this for the tenth time. What exactly have I to gain about lying about the attendance?? And don't give me any rubbish about tax fiddles.

However that looked more than 5000 to me and with all due respect I've been coming to BV for 25 years so I have an idea. Now either folk are getting in without your knowledge or the previous regimes have grossly exaggerated. Either way I think it's worth mentioning and not getting over sensitive about, don't you?
