| In the evening post he says he wants to compete and with our situation he couldn't . 'The club needs to decide where it wants to be either competing or selling' doesn't he realise we ain't got money to compete but with a right coach we could. Does he think he is better than he is sure hull FC had the money and he didn't do owt there.
Another question heard folk saying if we stay in sl then nxt yr we'll be able to rebuild/improve the squad so where would the money come from is it investment or new sponsorship

| The side he was coaching was more than capable of competing with the Bulls.
I wonder what his excuse for two losses were?

| This squad should be competing for the top eight never mind the Bulls, and the reason we aren't is down to RA.

| Doesn't everyone want to 'compete'?
It's how you go about it, to make it happen.
The lack of passion in his interviews and post match speeches, is hardly the rallying call from someone who desperately wants to compete.
Anyway that is in the past and the future is Orange!

| To compete you first need fire in your belly and the right mind set.

| I think he’s got a cheek!
He’d had a chance to compete whilst he was at Hull, great stadium, large fan base & presumably a full S.C. to go at.
Yet he got handed a lifeline by Wakefield, when he would have probably taken any old job in the lower leagues, he may then have got the Fev gig when Powell moved to Cas.
Yep we had a decent end to his first season but that was partly down to Bradford’s meltdown, second season pretty poor, & this year, enough said.
The bloke appears to think he’s a top coach & should be coaching a top side, but there’s nothing on his C.V that suggests that is the case.

Plus all the baggage that went with it that he had to put up with at Hull.

I was going to bring this point up a bit ago.
When Bradford went into admin first time round and had 6 points deducted, they dropped to 9th.
They were still 3 points in front of us at that time.
Any sane person would have still backed them to make the 8, as who would have bet on us winning our last 7 games?
Even then, it still went to the last game.
Bulls lost at Catalan, which guaranteed the pressure was off when we played our last game.
So all in all, very mediocre from a 'young British coach'.

| Personally I think that he's just trying to cover himself following the recent results. The squad is there to compete with, he tinkered with it nobody else did. He only got the Hull job by default and seriously underperformed with a richer club. He said he wants to compete. You don't have to be at the top to compete. You have to have the desire and (as mentioned before) fire in your belly. One of things I find interesting is he said he decided a month ago that it was time for a change, so why wait so long? And why did our chairman give the impression it was more recent than that?

| I'm not an avid Agar basher, but he had enough quality in the team to compete for top 8 if anything, and he even said it himself.
Sounds like he's just trying to big himself up for potential future employers

Because you'll never know all the details that lead up to someone who is in situ, moving on, or being moved on; if there's any kind of compromise agreement involved, which is highly likely, it's a confidential agreement between the employer and the (former) employee.

Assuming RA asked to leave to look for another job and to 'compete', why do you think it highly likely that RA will be agreeing a pay off?

| I admit to being one prepared to give Agar the benefit of doubt prior to the lead up to the Bradford game.
His laid back attitude (to put it mildly) in the lead up was totally unacceptable and smacked more of 'couldn't care less'.
The statements by him since seem to suggest that indeed was the case.
I now agree with many of you that he should have gone earlier.
