Could any of you ladies and gentlemen in the know on here tell me how come we can afford to sign some of the players we have, even if it is no fees, contracts only, and it seems we are in the market for BJB and any other loan or fire sale player that goes? I mean, I know we have always been a club that managed its finances well. I'm sure I have no reason to worry. I'm sure "it will never be allowed to happen again"..Answers on the post board please.

Loads of players have left that were on a load of cash. Plus we have just had £300000 injected into the club.

I don't rejoice in being sceptical but a quick resume of recent memory and a read of Mike Rylance's book tends to give me the jitters when I see signings and rumoured signings springing up right left n centre, especially when they happen straight after yet another financial crisis. Perhaps we used some good sense in the summer for once and maybe the late acquisition of players after others have had their turn at implosion, was good business..for once. Mayb we will gel and have a good year..please. I'm tired

On the one hand it is a pleasure to see players of quality arrive and on the other hand I am thinking OMG we have been here before. Trinity, ambition and cash sense ...not a historically good mix

That £300k is a one off payment that is being spent to save you this season. One year deals such as Scruton and loans should tell you that it is all for this year. If it works and keeps you up then it is good business. If it fails then it is financial gambling and you start cutting costs again and possible problems. How can you balance the books on your gates due to the ground capacity? Unfortunately all of the bottom dwellers are having to do the same. Wakefield are clearly gambling just like others. I am not having a go here - but simply pointing out the obvious and the dangers associated with relegation and how it makes sensible people take unusual gambles with money they don't necessarily have long term.

Charlie I'm buzzing absolutely loved today (1st game I've managed to make because if work and finances) but to hear the crowd slag folk like Tautai and Lynne off but be praising them 30mins into the game just made me smile more. I tAke the team as it is support the players but mostly I support the badge.
