So why buy into Wakey, Michael, when you're a Hull FC fan? What's in it for you, cod'ead? No, sorry.... you've obviously changed your allegiances. Why? Does it depend on where the money is? Or the potential money is? Or isn't, in this case? But now it's not a buy-in, is it? Just a sell-off. Are you just getting back what you're owed? What's really in it for you, Michael? |

Without a doubt MC has used the cover of Wakefields situation to attempt to recoup some/all of his investment.
IMHO his agenda has always been to do whats best for MC first and foremost,irrelevant of the consequences to Wakefield Trinity.
He is unlikely to ever admit to his true agenda and in fairness he would be daft to,but lets be realistic,no sane person would put their house on the line for a club they didnt even support a couple of years ago - but you just might if you were trying to recoup some investment out of that club.
Apologies if people dont like this view,but nothing else makes logical sense.

Not going into details on here but the pair of you couldn't be further from the truth.
I struggle to believe that so called fans come on here criticising a guy who saved the club from going under !!
It's people like you with opinions like this and who air them on this forum that puts investors, sponsors and other significant people from coming on board with WT.
But feel free to keep slagging off someone and something you know nothing about.

If he's protecting his investment I have no issue with that. If he's successful we still have a SL club to support at least for one more season.
Having said that I genuinely don't believe anyone 'invests' into a RL club expecting to get a return. They may as well burn their money for what it's worth.

My point was why get involved in the first place? What was in it for you?
You've outed yourself as a fan, or as you claim, former fan of another club in an interview with the local paper. I don't get that. It doesn't work for me. I can't be anything but Trinity, so how do you manage to slip and slide? |

Out of interest how would he ever be able to get his investment back? Surely we would suddenly be having to make rather large profits for that to happen and that isn't likely to happen in this lifetime?

Have you ever thought that he just might have a love for the game,
I don't know MC but I have a mate who supports Leeds Rhinos did the stats at the Cas Tigers games and was a scout for the Huddersfield Giants, he now is employed at Castleford and is helping in restructuring the club so what do you make of that?
As for selling players to recoup some of his investment why not, how many on here have come forward to put the money on the line, I wouldn't unless I could throw it away.

Maybe he got involved in the first place because he thought the product was good, ok it's turned out differently but maybe he thought we were going places. |

As someone who likes to read your posts RR, I'm pretty shocked by the original post, I can't say I've noticed you voicing such opinions before, what's brought this on? Is it the fact that MC said he was a Hull fan? As simple as that?

I don't think I'm out of order, mate. I read an article that says our chairman was a Hull FC fan at the time that Agar was appointed. I see Kath in an advisory role. I see sell-offs everywhere, front and back office, and I wonder why he invested in the first place. Why?
It's not unusual to put up capital to protect capital. |
