| I just read this headline on the Wakefield Express website....
and I am flabberghasted!
I never, ever thought that Trinity would support this proposal... It shows to me that the people who run the club have given up hope in the game! And clearly shows a lack of faith in any constuctive development of Rugby League into the future.
Cynically it makes me ask if there is a deal being struck to allow people to leave with their investment intact when Trinity get relegated? And decisions have already been made about the level that Trinity will find themselves at after this season.
If RL has a future it needs to grow... not contract!
ps I actually feel really angry about this!

| I have not read the article, but the headline can be interpreted in many different ways for example-
Trinity have confidence in not being relegated and want to remain in SL getting a larger share of the Sky Money, whilst reducing the fatigue to its assets, the playing staff?

| It is one way of strengthening the second tier of rugby league too, by bringing two clubs into that level, you raise the level in that league too, which strengthens the appeal of both leagues.
By Trinity supporting the move to 12, it shows that they are confident of making the 12, and also support the development of the game.

| As we're dependant on RFL money to pay the tax bill it would be a tad risky to rock the boat, besides all SL clubs probably agree on the reduction of the league (I don't personally). The six who walked out want rid of the incompetent leaders at the RFL.

Rugby League has tried to grow in the past & failed as it will again & again. It is a small sport being propped up by Sky. You only have to look at the World Cup BBC only broadcasting games with top nations. Can you see football World Cup being like that.

I think that you are doing the game a dis-service.
The game is struggling to grow and improve at the top but, there are more people involved in the game at grass roots level than there has ever been, especially in the South East (quite ironic, given the state of The Bronco's)
Also, the World Cup, although slightly contrived, is probably exceeding expectations.
To compare the RLWC with the round-ball version is totally unrealistic and it is only the hype of this event which stirs the public interest in one sided fixtures.
There are problems with the game and the need for perpetual quick fixes but, at the end of the day we are struggling at the top end, not with the game itself but, with lack of investment/ sponsorship and the people running the sport should shake their collective heads about the lack of decent sponsors for our major competitions.

Rubbish, if anything this is as KK says us paying the ferryman, the RFL helped us out, we're backing them, I'm not saying it's right but that's how I see our position.

Yep. A ridiculous stance to take given our current state and proof we are in Hetheringtons pocket. We have to look after number one and that involves us lessing the chance of relegation whilst we try rebuild the club. Going down now would set this club back for a generation at least, we have to do everything possible to avoid it and if that involves voting in purely our own interests so be it.

If sky pulled the plug on Rugby League how many professional clubs would survive. I could probably count them on one finger.

For us, it's all about getting through next season and then hopefully building towards a move to Newmarket.
If we have to beg, steal or borrow from Leeds or whoever else then, so what ?
As long as we come through the other side and have a team to support in years to come, then it's worth the pain and the dent in our collective ego's.
