Coming to us on loan from Leeds apparently. Thoughts?

I hope he isn't the new player we were looking to bring in...I was expecting someone with a little more experience and stature in the game.

Singleton however, could hopefully be another Kyle Amor...

After watching him yesterday I reckon this is a cracking bit of business if it happens, Rhino fans up in arms about it icon_wink.gif

sounds about perfect to me, depending on the loan terms.

who exactly were you expecting "with more experience and stature"? - both these things cost money, which is alot for a 4/5th choice prop forward.

probably a good deal for all parties

As I understand it, the new players we were looking to bring in were experienced, but both have gone with bigger money offers; on balance, I'm ok with setting a value and refusing to exceed it - that's good business.

Brad Singleton sounds like a good prospect and as you say, if he turns out like Amor, we'll do ok out of the deal.

Exactly what I thought. If it works out half as well as Amor I'm happy.

Obviously a Leeds reject blah blah blah Leeds trolls.

Don`t think he is a Leeds reject at all mate.
Very highly thought of at Leeds by the fans for sure.
You are getting a good young prospect who will not let you down.
We will continue with the Dads Army front row at Leeds where it is thought Singleton would not get much of a look in.
He probably thinks he will get more game time at your place with Mr Poore getting plenty of bans this year icon_wink.gif

Touche! icon_lol.gif

Justin Poore has played 20 minutes for WTW and has already out pantomime-villained Ryan Bailey.

Classic Poore - he does what he wants.

Just can not see why we need Singleton. Did not go yesterday but have been told by several who did that Trouty looked a better player. It may be that Singleton may come to us on a short term loan for a bit of cover as we do not yet know if all of Wilkes, Raleigh and Amor are going to ready for the start of the season. Will Poore get a bam etc etc. Anyway I would rather us play Trouty at prop than sogn Singleton.

I watched Singleton closely yesterday and also watched our present '5th prop', Kyle trout.
Trout is the better player in my opinion to do the covereing job next season. Ok Singleton my
turn out to be very good oneday but can't see the point of bringing him in on a short term deal
to add a bit of cover.

I didn't think trout did himself any favours yesterday at all. Stepped a few times which led to a couple of tries, dominated when running the ball in, it showed prop isn't his position and he should only be used in a crisis in that position.

Singleton might be a good prospect but for me he isn't what we need. We were obviously looking for an established superleague prop on a permanent contract and ended up with a relatively untried loan signing. All we are doing is help develop him for Leeds as there is no way we will end up with him permanently this time. Sorry but we may as well have kept Matt James.

Give the kid a chance he's still learning. Quite a few of our more experienced players were 'stepped' more than him.

In fact I can remember Danny M stepping someone very easily and young trouty tracked back to make the tackle and save a certain try.

I accept trout still has many faults but singleton is also still very green. So I can't see the point of developing a player for leeds and neglecting one of our own.

What we were after was a prop - hence the links to Kirke, Mason and Sidlow. What Singleton is, at the moment, is a back-rower - who will probably play prop one day, but was listed at loose-forward yesterday.

Leeds seem to be getting the better of this deal, but then we probably owe them a favour or two as they have been 'generous' to our club over recent years.

I am still of the opinion that we should have kept hold of Matt James until we had a better option. He was big, had a fair few games under his belt, was mature as a prop and looked well in the first team last year. I am saying this to compare him with Singleton, who's CV looks weak in comparison - even though he may well be a great player in the making.

We all see it differently, I thought Trout made that emergency prop spot his own with an excellent display - much better than Singleton.

I think we need more players like Justin Poore in our game and it will be good to see how he goes when he is not getting wound up.
Whilst Bailey did his usual again yesterday it was good to see a bit of biff from your guy.
By the way where do Sandal Spartans play their home games?
I used to watch the Walnut Tree ARLFC play at Sandal many years ago and they had a decent team then.
