It is with regret that we have had to cancel the Newmarket Celebration Event scheduled for 19th July.

In order to keep the price as low as possible we needed a substantial number of people to purchase tickets in order to pay the caterers and the entertainment. Unfortunately we have failed to sell the number of tickets required in order to hit our break even point. We had also intended a raffle and stand up/sit down bingo in order to raise funds for the Wildcats Community Trust but of course we will no longer be able to do this.

Anyone who has purchased tickets will be given a full refund and we will provide details of how to obtain the refund shortly. If anyone wishes to contact us regarding a refund please e-mail us at wtsupporterstrust@aol.com

Please accept our apologies if you purchased tickets for the inconvenience caused.

Sad news for all involved with the pushing forward of the Newmarket ground. Thought fans would have been delighted to celebrate our good news. icon_sad.gif

Think this would be more appropriate when we get full planning permission and are ready to start building.

Had this gone ahead we would have been celebrating thin air icon_wink.gif

yes Trojan and then you would have said more appropriate when the grounds complete, the more appropriate after first win, then when we win league!
shame that the fans don't get behind the few individuals who do alot of work for this club with no reward.
People like TRB have worked for years to get teh stadium so close and others just sit on their rears and do nothing.
sorry for rant but also sorry i won't be at a good but unsuported evening. shame on you stay aways!

Take your point but it wasn't intended to be premature, we know we only have a "mindful to approve" decision and a lot of work still needs to be done. It was to be a celebration of how far we had come from the collapse of the Thornes Park scheme, administration etc. and as TRB said was a celebration of what collectively and particularly SWAG had achieved over the years and how their persistance was paying off.

It was hoped to be an evening when people could have a bit of fun and at the same time contribute towards the Wildcats Community Trust and the good work they do in the local community.

With respect to the mindful to approve decision, its four weeks until the Section 106 has to be submitted. Long shot but does anyone know the status of this?

What a shame, would have been nice. I personally couldn't have made it for work commitments but would have hoped enough others could have enjoyed the night - never mind. So long as we get the Stadium icon_razz.gifRAY:

I cannot fault the work done by individuals and swag and like all am very appreciative.

While I do think it was premature date wise I do think it's a great idea at some point. I have no doubt it will be a success and a great night when it does happen though.

Shame the required number didn't get met but at a later date I doubt that will be the case icon_wink.gif.

Hopefully full planning will be a faster process and the next step can be taken soon. As it starts to come together I may very well attend the celebration too.

The only problem being that at a later date there may not be anybody who can be d to organize the event due to the increasing level of apathy shown by the supporters.

Just a thought!! icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

icon_sad.gif I was looking forward to it.
Please can the organisers get the club website updated as my dad will probably still try and turn up even though i've told him it's on here.

Everybody appreciates the work swag & res4market has done to get us this far but most people were probably waiting until we can reveal the plans and have a panel to answer questions on the stadium rather than a comedian and bingo

There was to be a panel of James Elston, Phil Townend & Inflatable Armadillo , then break for food thencomedian. It was a celebration after all. Folk need not bother waiting for me to be involved in another event icon_sad.gif

Again it is something that I would have been interested in, but weekday nights are tough for me - would have made more sense to arrange it for times they know that Rugby fans are free, ie Friday night at 8 or Saturday night at 6? Just a thought - but thanks for having a go at arranging.
