Firstly to Phil Townsend (aka TRB) - As I have just said on twitter, I have genuinely never been more delighted to call someone my friend. You are a friend, mentor and true inspiration. Of course, don't get too carried away with 12 years of dedicated hard work, there are still a couple more years of work yet to be done! icon_cool.gif icon_wink.gif

To all the SWAG members, this is the dream you started & I am merely a recent interloper who couldn't help himself but get involved... you all deserve the credit today as well and hope people will not forget this.

In particular I would personally single out Dave Jenison, Matt Lindop, Phil Hulme & Sue Parker for all the work they have put in and the constant support that both Phil & i got any time we asked and often when didn't even have to!

A double special mention to Judith Gibson, who's passion & dedication to the club and the Newmarket site (also as a Stanley resident!) was an inspiration to me. She also, more importantly did all the admin tasks that no one else likes to do and sorted through, counted and photocopied every single Statements of Support, which I think made a massive contribution in making the inspector understand the level of support for the scheme. The club is lucky to have such nice, dedicated supporters.

Of course Andrew Glover & James Elston and everyone at the club for all their support. I think once we got Andrew on the right page, shortly after he rescued the club, his belief that we could all do this never wavered. James is a great humble guy and happy to do anything we asked of him & the club, top man, top RL CEO.

I am also going to thank Ted Richardson. This started out as his baby and he deserves recognition for that & probably much more.

Also, thanks must go to Sir Rodney, Collin Mackie & all at Yorkcourt. I am looking forward to continue working with you to make this dream a reality. Also to Ian Thomson & Richard Hollinson and all the WMDC planning team for all their hard work and being both professional and honest about the whole process. You were right, this was always the best site and now two inspectors have proved it!

Finally, thanks to any one and every one who did something, even just signing the petition or in most cases, much, much more.

Top job, only another 2 years to go now! icon_lol.gif icon_wink.gif

I knew I would bloody forget someone!

Massive thanks to Ian Bramley who was able to both understand all the technical rubbish I spouted and then translate that into a language so that everyone could understand. It also meant that I had someone to talk to when the rest gave me blank looks about LDF's and planning frameworks! icon_lol.gif

Would agree totally with all you just posted IA, but you also need some recognition as well.

How many other fans of an opposing club would have got involved to the extent that you have to help us make this a reality? Not that many I wouldn't have thought.

You are an honorary Wildcat and when that team of yours (can't say the name - sorry) comes visiting our shiny new stadium for the first time you will get a very warm welcome - at least until kick-off icon_wink.gif

Thanks again to you, and all the people you mentioned above.

While I am feeling all gushy and emotional, can't forget Mrs Armadillo (she has no idea that is my name on here) & Armadillo Jnr for putting up with me and supporting me personally through this.

Also, Mrs TRB & family for doing the same for Phil (for much, much longer) and letting him come out to play every time I knocked! icon_wink.gif

Top sentiments IA, I was welling up reading that.
This really is a special day for all of those people who have worked extremely hard for the Wakefield Trinity cause and in spite of the obstacles ( of which there have been many) and the doubters and objectors, and finally have something to show for their unstinting efforts and unwavering belief that this could happen.
Well done all of you, Wakefield will soon have something which we can all be proud of and generations of Wakefield Trinity fans will have somewhere to watch this citys only professional sport club. a014.gif a014.gif

You forgot me and Jinger but I'll let you off as we did our stuff in the early days - so that's Mick Carr and Steve Astill to the list icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Oh and yep well done Ted, it's bitter sweet but hey ho.

According to Harold Stephens it was all down to Jason Wilsher-Mills
Actually, yes, another person I missed... I am sure there will be a few more as well!

Jason evidence was indeed very powerful and put across in a very clear and concise manner. He of course still praised the club for doing the best it could with what it has, but equally said, the only way he knows that the club could give him what he now enjoys at places like the KC, is in a new stadium!

I've already emailed Martin Shevill, the Principal of Ossett Academy, another who spoke in favour at the inquiry - he deliberately ignored the WTW angle and made a good case for the wider benefits of access to sport and the impact that has on educational attainment.

More broadly, I can only agree with what's been said about the people involved, especially SWAG and IA and everyone at the club, past and present - an amazing level of enthusiasm, energy, staying power and knowledge was brought to bear to get us to where we are now; they should be the first through the turnstyles when NM opens for business!
