www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/sport ... -1-4325965

Don't know why this topic is being forever peddled by the press, both clubs have their own plans, let them get on with it. If one hits the buffers then its time to start talking about ground sharing.

As for Kear, i'm surprised he has got drawn into the matter. He'll probably know how unpalletable for either supporter a ground share would be.

I dont think this was his opinion when he was our coach and of all people he should know the feelings of the majority of the supporters of both clubs.
The timing of his comments is poor with a decision on the Newmarket site due in just a few weeks time.

To be fair, he doesn't state which of the 2 proposed new grounds we should share, though why he'd want to stick his oar into this now I really don't know.

While they're at it Halifax should move into the Galpharm, Warrington into the Stobart, Leigh to the DW etc.

He's just trying to stay relevant now he's out of the big time.

I think JK is being a bit mischevious lately when it comes to WTW; he made a comment on TV recently about how we should be challenging for the 8 given the money that we've spent for this season, which in real terms, only amounts to about 100k more than he had at his disposal, so a little bit disengenuous.

As for these comments - he knows full well that a groundshare wouldn't work and is not wanted by either set of fans and, given the sensitivity of the PI decision, he'll know that his comments could add fuel to the anti-argument; in my view, he should keep his nose out and his trap shut.

Could he know something about WR?
Not out of the realms of possibility considering he's practically part of the fixtures & fittings at WR.

He is? icon_confused.gif

But what Edinburgh house want to do and what will be happening on Wheldon Road are 2 different things (not to mention Tesco have said the location EH have picked isn't suitable for a supermarket).

Could a supermarket war potentially drag on and not do Cas any good. For me would have no problem with sharing but guess our neighbours would have more gripes than us if it was at Newmarket.

I get your point but I reckon it's a wee bit more than 100k. My guess and it's just a guess is that the new team will have cost more in the region of 3-500k more. Which buys you a heck of a lot more talent. I think his comments are fair enough assuming as I do that he means eventually rather than right now. The team deffo is top 6 capable but I don't think it will be ready in time.

When Kear took us over he got an underperforming team that as proved in 2004 was capable of much better. Kear did well but the team was already there it just needed putting back on track. Agar has basically started with nothing - whether this is a blessing or a curse I'm not sure.

I think JK is genuine enough but being a media person sometimes you end up talking guff to fill air time - I can live with it we don't need to be over sensitive where JK is concerned. Now Peter Row!!!!

I had the pleasure of going for a drink with Mr Kear a couple of years ago. It was after the Crusaders game where Danny Brough was sent off, when Diversity were on, and he said then that a shared stadium should happen, with different coloured seating or something being used. I don't know if he voiced it publicly then, but what he has said in the article is what he said to me back then, and so his opinion hasn't changed. He is just more able to express it, I suppose, when asked the question.

Whether or not it is the Castleford side of things building up momentum for a Glasshoughton share is something we don't know. It was certainly RW's tack at the time of the Inquiry.
