2pts in the bag and the first home game of the season is almost upon us.

I'm looking forward to seeing our lads run out at home. Hull Kr from what I have read showed up well vs Leeds. Should be a good first test at home for us.

I have a feeling we are in for a tough game and don't think there will be much in it at the end.

Attendance: 7213
Wakefield 28 - 24 Hull Kr

I hope the players maintain the tenacity and skill levels to showcase to the home fans.

What are peoples expectations? Predictions

I predict a good performance from the lads, controversial calls from the ref, and tough opposition in Hull KR!

A good performance last week, a large away following, if the weather holds out 9K is achievable. If so I hope the team turns up and gives a really good show of its potential.

As ever, I imagine Dobson will be the key man for Hull KR, if Trinity close him down and limit his kicking opportunities they won't be far off a victory. With enough of the ball this Trinity team looks like it can score plenty of points.

Let's hope for all of us we're not walking away from the game on Sunday shaking our heads and saying 'same old Wakefield'. We've seen so many good away games in the past build up everyone's hopes for a great home game the following week, only to be let down by a lacklustre performance.

I do believe we have the ability and team spirit to back it up this weekend but it will be very close. I expect Ben Cockayne will be chomping at the bit to get involved in this one.

I don't think we need to put too much pressure on ourselves. If we lost this to what is a decent HKR team I wouldn't class it as the end of the world. We are still bedding in as a team so we will have slip ups. I don't think it would be fair to use the "same old Wakey" tag on this team just yet, it's very early days for this new team.

Agree, they'll be days when combinations won't work and plays don't come off, it's all part and parcel of being a completely new side. Lets face it even teams that have been together a couple of years can have poor games, so we'll see.
Still going for a win 24-16 but it wont be the end of the world if we get caught out.

I think it could be a nail biter! 16-12 win, cold day, 6,667 attendance.

We certainly can win it, but this will be the first proper SL team we've played in anger; HKR will be a much sterner test than Widnes, who didn't really represent much attacking threat.

Even so:

A good defensive display again and some good kick returns from FOX and Cockayne should see us through.

Wakey 28 - 10 HKR
Attendance 7894
Mom: Southern

Defence to punish HKR, retricting them to the opening score and a consolation score.

I think it will be a very tough test they seem to have a big pack, with some powerful runners on the flanks, where we could come unstuck, however we have a very skilful set of players.. though I was slighty concerned by our ability to make big metres. Therefore I think wood will be in again kicking on the last behind men.. pinning them back as such.

Tight game but think we may come home empty handed....

Got a feeling we may struggle with the KR pack and expect them to post a few points early on. Another big defensive effort and our improved fitness levels should hopefully see us through.

I'm in agreement with Ry & Mwildcats in that the real test will be played out in the forwards. If we're able to contain their pack and tire them, then i'm confident we can beat them.

Blake Green is an obvious loss for them, and Aiton looks capable of unlocking defences. I did think watching highlights of Leeds v KR that out wide KR look vulnerable. So an opportunity for Mellars or Collis to shine
