He's not doing anything other coaches have not done before and lets not forget he's not a newbie to the game, so he knows exactly what hes doing.

Had to laugh when I read it. Widnes were very consistent in getting away with head shots and the ref letting them for 70 mins before dispatching Cross to the bin.

What a silly sausage - they were lucky not to have been penalised more for high shots; Ah Van and Isa were doing it all night and that went unpunished. Cross is, quite simply, a liability - he was booted out of Wigan and Leeds for a reason.

Both Isa and Ah Van were also getting away with coming in late on the tackle and were rarely punished.
Cross was binned for descent after having a go at Thaler, not sure he could have remembered the 3 previous takles he made that nearly took players heads off, but he does seem to move around the pitch in a semi concious state
