| Who thinks Kear should go now?
IMO he needs to finish ASAP and let the club and fans have some stability. Get the new coach sorted asap and hopefully the players will get back to their best and try to stay in a job. With the whole franchise situation if we get the wooden spoon we will never hear the end of it from pinky and perky on sky sports plus the grief we will all get from our sad friends who live in Wakefield but support other clubs.
From a players point of view they must be wondering, in fact I know they are wondering what is happening.
Just like to add JK has been a great servant to the club and is always friendly and positive. Just think he has served his time and needs to go with his head held high. He saved us once by winning the all important games to stay in superleague, he needs to save us again now and walk away.

| i think he should go now. i think he's done a tremendous job in his time. however events have overtaken him, and i firmly believe that we will benefit in the long run from him protecting the youngsters this season.
thanks john, but it's time for your taxi ride.
he'll always be a trinity hero in my eyes, when he had a budget he worked wonders, when he didn't he did better than we could possibly have expected.

| The problem being, the replacement coach is probably employed somewhere else at the moment. An intermediate coach couldn't do any worse , than the last few matches results. However Mr. Kear , thank you , you were there when we needed you.

| I think all the hard work that has been done in the last eight months by the club and new owner has been undone in the last five weeks by what looks to me like a can't be ed attitude by some of the players and the coaching staff.

| Agreed there mate, we are trying to grow the fan base etc so let's do something. Worked ok at Salford, hull, Warrington when the assistant took over for a short period. In my eyes we have nothing to lose

| Only saying to a mate the other day that Kear did us proud for 3 years then appeared to start loosing the plot.He has done this no matter where he has been if you look at his coaching history. He has a good start at a club then its as though a switch has been flicked and all the good falls apart. Thanks for the first 3 years John they were good but please close the door behind you.

| Let him go out with his head held high. For Christ's sake with what he has had to deal with these past few years he deserves that. Some people have short memories. The last 3 games are great games to leave on as well, 3 good old derby's and I'm sure he will pull something special out of the hat.
Also it allows the club to breathe at the end of the season and put the past firmly behind them and allows whoever is the new coach a total blank piece of paper.

| How is it a blank piece of paper when they are signing players before a coach is appointed. Clearly your not a manager of men/business judging by that comment. It's not a critiscm of JK at all just saying he needs to go now I think that is the feeling both in and out of the camp also.

| I think we owe it to John to let him stay to the end of the season - he has guided us through some very troubled times and we've come out the other side against all the odds. So what if we get hammered for a few games, i'm sure that had it not been for him we wouldn't even be in SL to get hammered.

| I think some people are being way too harsh on kear, if it wasnt for this guy we almost certainly would have been relegated before he came in and that could have been the end for wakey in super league. With limited resources available at the beginning of the season and the club brinking on extinction, what did everyone expect this season? People have very short memories.

| i am not a fan of kears and never have been. i knew i had a grudge about him from his time at sheffield, and it came flooding back when reading another thread!!
however, the last three years has probably been the most "eventful" successive years that ANY club in the history of RL has encountered, and for that reason alone i think kear should be allowed to remain at the club to see out his contract.

| some good posts. on balance if he wants to stay then let him. like i said, he's a hero for all time as far as i'm concerned. as important a figure in the club's history as any other.

I just don't want to see all the hard work that has gone into bringing crowds in undone by such poor performances as we have recently seen. I am talking about effort more than results as to be honest we couldn't realistically expect to beat Saints, Wigan and Warrington, but we could have at least tried to make it a bit more difficult for them.
I'm happy for him to stay to the end of the season IF the players are willing to work for him until then and IF he realises that playing those players that have sorted futures elsewhere is of no benefit to us. The only problem is judging by the last few weeks that doesn't seem to be happening.

| He's in an awkward situation, future employers don't want to see him quit or sacked and they don't want to see his side lose by 50-60 each week. I wish he'd leave but I can't see it, he still has that blind optimism that has served him well in the past in big games.
