I'd have to agree with that, he could be frustrating but he was still the best option we had at halfback.
No way we should have just released him for free if we didn't have a better player to replace him, which IMO we didn't.

I have to agree with the releasing of BJ. As much as he was a luxury player and could look bone idle at times, we were a better team with him at halfback. I think he could have helped us get a couple more wins this season.

TBH though if we were operating under a P&R scenario the club would have done more in terms of player recruitment to stay up (starting with not letting Jeffries go)

Encouraging Jeffries to go was a very poor Rugby decision, as was getting rid of Millard. With regards to the topic the most important thing we have to do this season is make sure that we keep our full time Junior staff full time ( no other Championship club does at this time ) and give them the ammo to keep our best young players in the system and recruit quality young players.

Agreed. This will hopefully be the cornerstone of the team going forward with the young guys progressing into the 1st team playing Championship rugby and then hopefully in 2015 if we get the nod a number of them will be SL ready.

I reckon releasing BJ will have saved his wage for a good half season. The club will have saved at least £30K

I don't remember Jeffries often running the show for us he was good with a decent scrum half to play off but that was about it. The fact that he has had a few good games for Bradford says more about his attitude than his talent. No point keeping a player who can't decide if he wants to play or not.
