| Hopefully over the next 7 days you will get a new owner who has the clubs interests at heart and wants to do the best for the club, however let me pose this question - if the new owner decides that the best course of action would be not apply for a super league licence and drop down a league and start to build a strong team who were winning but would cost less to fund due to the lower wage bill and bring through players through your own ranks who had the club in their hearts- how would you the fans feel

| In some ways, and dependent on the situation, it could probably be the best long term scenario for the club.
But we'll see, and while we have a sniff, we'll fight on.

| I'll go. I would imagine 60-70% of our core support would carry on supporting the club if we don't win a franchise. Should we build a top championship side then its quite possible our fan base could actually grow especially if we are playing in new surroundings.

| There's no level playing field in super league so it wouldn't matter to me if we dropped a league and let another team get 5h1t on for three years

| The club will be taken over next week and if rumours are right it will be an exciting future for sport in the City of Wakefield and Trinity being a SL side will be part of the plan. I'd expect the licence to be applied for playing out of oakwell until Newmarket is ready I feel although we I are in a very weak position at the moment things do change very quickly and there is alot of water to go under the bridge until the decision is made. There are only 3 big clubs in RL Wigan Leeds and hull fc then you've got saints warrington Bradford and hull k r as the group behind them, a well run WTRLFC could easily fit into that group

I'd pay to see that!
In all honesty I don't see us getting a franchise next time around, the sad thing is though once we are out I can't see us getting back in.

"Quote" But perhaps most impressive is another bumper Wildcats home crowd – 9,237 for a Saturday TV game in the cold and wet is a fine effort from one of Super League’s most progressive clubs "Gareth Walker the Mirror"

| I will watch whatever but for me we are still superleague yep we have gone through the harvester but we are 1 of the original finders of RL and with new owners hopefully willing to put money in and a possibility of a new ground . Its exciting times and if they want to kick us out SL will be a boring place with artificial garbage clubs

I've been supporting Trinity since 1961 - seen the great times-and make no mistake WT were THE team of the 60's. I've seen another great team assembled under Trevor Woodward in the 1970's although that team fell apart quicker than it was assembled and decline followed for many years. I've been to places like Runcorn where spectators turned to watch the Guiness vessel pass along the ship canal rather then watch the game-it was more exciting!
Faithful Trinity supportes will always be there -but I see light at the end of a dismal tunnel and to all you pessimists out there we are still in with a shout!
If the club is bought, agreement reached to play at Oakwell why the hell shouldn't we have a strong claim to be in Superleague!

54709_1307880116.jpg Once a Sandal Wild Cat always a Sandal Wild Cat.
Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

| A very sensible course of action would be to seek assurances from the rfl that the door will remain open to the Championship teams as it has been the past 3 years.
Sign a core block of current players capable of winning virtually every competition in the lower leagues and preparing for 3 years on the road back to SL.
With Newmarket completed and a winning team we will be a very attractive option. Especially if the expansion of London and Wales continues to be underwritten. The long held notion of "healthy heartland before expansion" might not seem so insane after 3 more years of underwriting expansionist franchises.
I couldn't agree more with posters who rightly see us as being able to contend with the vast majority of SL teams, we've just been run incredibly bad for the past 2 decades and need to be essentially demolished and built again from the ground up- in more than one way. I honestly believe that a well run Championship side would be a lot more of attractive to the "floaters" over the recent SL model. With a new 12,000 seater ground and a well financed, well promoted club, with a winning team could attract 5,000 average in the Championship. And when we achieve our goal of returning to the elite we have a solid (& happy) fan base to expand upon once again- with the facilities and finance that we deserve.
Our new BoD can deliver all this.
However if a certain man wanted to I'm sure he could invest in the RFL and SL so to speak, freeing up enough monies to maintain/increase the current level of funding for all clubs, whilst being able to expand to include 2/1 more teams/team.
