| I was watching the relegation match from 2006 this morning. The ground was packed to capacity that day which proves the interest is there in Wakey. What is stopping these people from coming week in week out.
Now i know that game was massive for both clubs involved, but if the folk who attended that day cared enough to attend on that occasion then surely they can be teased back.
Is it the price that is stopping people?
Surely better to have 10,000 in there all buying refreshments/merchandise than betwen 4-6K that we were getting last year!

| i think people came from all over the place that day, that said there were 10k down cas last season. i think the ground would be better full and maybe this could be achieved by letting all kids in for nothing or with a paying adult. it may just create the next generation of fans. when the kids then leave school they get a stepup season ticket, maybe starting at a fiver then ten, then some help when they get to 18 so we can keep them there.

| Probably because since that day what happens off the pitch is more important than what happens on it and people are fed up of it.

For me it's a 250 mile round trip now, as opposed to the 30 mile round trip back in 2006.
Price and product are the main reasons, I would suggest

| The difference with that game was that some people came who were not big Trinity fans. I took an extra six who are non fans and I know a union fan who took his kids just because it was a big game.
We need to get the kids in young for free or at £1 and sell kids shirts for no more than cost. The trouble is we may get a lower income for about ten years before it started to pay back by extra adults through the gates. We would need an owner who could afford that and sport is a very short term business.
Most RL clubs have changed from looking one year ahead to three at best but no more.

| I think all kids up to the age of 12 should be free entry and 13 - 15 year olds say a fiver 16 - 18 say 12 and 15 for adults.

That just about sums up life in the Championship. The GF was fantastic for us but after a while victory is empty because all people are bothered about is off-field critera. Go on the Widnes forum - i've been a regular on that forum for 12 months. I'd guesstimate that less than 40% of discussion threads are related to on field matters. We've forgotton about the game, the players and the competition. These are really strange times for some Rugby League fans.

the real world has no place in your life does it?
i mean what next?
£2 off if its your birthday?
£1.25 off if your name starts with the same letter the away team does?
im more practical
we will pay you to come if your bank balance is over £20m, and give you a cop of tea at half time too.

Would be a nightmare to police on the gate, they'd all need ID!
Kids get in free with a paying adult would do. Go around the schools (as we already do really well) and let the kids know that they can get in for free with the Mums n Dads. You also target the adults who are not into Rugby, they'd go because the kids wanted to go. This is how Bradford built up their support base at the start of SL, why re-invent the wheel!

I dont know how many cas fans were there that day but we filled the 'away stand' completly, there were more than 1500 cas fans easily, and i happen to know at least 3 cas fans that turned up without a ticket and got in.
