I have been watching Trinity a long time and a lot of good and bad times over the years.
The worsed times were when talented players just couldn't be bothered.

That wasn't what happened today. Warrington were more talented than us but we still gave a performance full of effort. Thats all I ask. Well get better but a team outgunned who still give it their all is a good start.

At no time would I describe our performance as being 'full of effort'. Had it have been full of effort, the scoreline would have had a difference of about 4, not 18. We were crap, as we have been 60% of the season.

Of course you can have a performance with effort without winning. They bombed tries today because we were still chasing back and putting pressure on, and we did it for the whole game. We tried to throw the ball around to give it a go, even though it was obvious we were going to lose.
It isn't always just about winning, especially when you are in a deep rut like we are. I feel more confident about the next two games because of the performance today.
But to be honest, is rather come 9th, one above Cas, so we don't have to be embarrassed in the playoffs.

I thought we played some great rugby today and some god awful rugby too,

the blanch 40/20 annoyed me more than any thing, knocking the ball over the line was under 8s class, GET YOUR BODY BEHIND THE BALL when taking a bomb its one of the first things we get taught!

positives were we scored a few great trys against one of the best clubs in the league
the king/morrison/BJ try was superb! as was the cook/blanch try
King really impressed me again today too, hope he gets another contract

Or there is the flipside of the coin that Wakey restricted Wire to running up what we all thought was going to be a 50+ score line. Wakey scoring 18 against a CC Finalist/2nd in League team is very good if you look at the other way.

Or we could just slate everything out of perspective.... icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

The effort was there this week, we were just clearly outclassed. Briers was dictating play and Wire never needed to get out of 2nd gear.

When Blackpool got hammered by Leeds in the CC do you think they didn't put any effort in?

We looked like a lower division side yesterday, but at least the heads didn't go down. A couple of wins in the next 2 won't erase the memory of a poor season but it will raise morale. If we finish above Cas I'll be happy-ish.

Was Blanch's "attempt" deffo a 40-20? Admitadly we have a poor view for seeing this where we are but I didn't think it was and put it down to another 'Carry on Wingman' type escapade.... Anybody clarify?

I also didn't have the best view of the kick, but I thought they were just short of the half-way line, did the ref call it? otherwise a poor decision.

Happened right in front us. Blanch actually touched the ball into touch, though it would have been a 40/20 anyway. To be fair, I think he was just beaten by a brilliant kick and very few wingers would have got the ball.

I that case it wasn't a 40/20 and in fact Blanch knocked it into touch and gave away the scrum.
