I think the season ticket I buy at the end of the season for the following year will wait this time. icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif

Seems to me that the club are realising that £20 is excessive and was maybe a mistake that is putting people off.

In all fairness at least they are trying to do something to encourage the floating supporters to turn up.

I am a Season Ticket holder and probably always will be until there is no club left to support or I am no longer able to go (ie I'm in a box underground). I can see why some people would get P'd off with these promotions as it does undervalue the Season Ticket a little if you could actually attend all the games cheaper by just taking up the offers, but at the end of the day I see it as my way of doing a bit to help the club in my own way. They get my money up front and can therefore plan accordingly.

I agree with Disney Cat. I am getting a bit peed off with all the cheap deals that don't benefit the season ticket holders. We have paid our money up front and showed our loyalty (4 times with Me, wife and 2 grown up kids) and we seem to be an afterthought. I know we need to get more people down to the ground, but spare a thought for the people that care.

Maybe the club is confident of getting the new stadium and the franchise and the only sticking point is attendances. They could be offering cheap tickets to get more fans in the ground to tick another box. Maybe.

i didn't buy 1 this year because i will miss 5 home games so it wasn't worth while. perhaps the club should issue all this years season ticket holders a discount from next years ticket for their loyalty?

Season ticket holder already gets benefit’s none season ticket holders get. The half price away shirt, discounts in the club shop, discounts at the club sponsors.

As I said last time, to see BV with more home support in is worth more than a few quid here and there to me. I applaud the club in trying to be proactive over the pricing structure. Also if people start to get petty over the periodic discounts the club give during the season than they will be withholding much needed funds from the club in the off season which will have a knock on effect on the quality of players coming through the door.

One thing I would like to see to encourage take up of season tickets is the lottery mentioned on another thread. All season ticket holders (over the age of 1icon_cool.gif are entered into a prize draw for £10K. This could be drawn for the first at the first home game of the season. It certainly could create a buzz in the run up to the season start, particularly if marketed right.

Agree with all of your post, with regards to the special offers that go out from time to time good luck to those that get them, I am quite happy to take advantage of paying less through the turnstile by buying a ST why cant those that through different circumstances dont have a ST recieve some sort of benefit as well.

The club reaps what it sows.

Economic hardship and uncertainty what does the club do

Put prices up and expects that people will come to games.

This is what is wrong with the club the directors have the club at heart but as for running it as a businees its a disaster.

They should have been bold and done something like Hudds and slashed prices to make the product available to more not less as they did with the in my opinion pay 20 quid like it or lump it attitude as we had got in the palyoffs.

Well both offield and on field dramas have left the club in a precarious position in that it now totally confused around its marketing strategy.

As a season ticket holder for many years I take my chance on what the club doea through the season but it must plan and prepare better for the future.

There is likely to be even less money about after today and the club needs to get in a strong position (not necessarily on the pitch) with its income and out goings there are too many rumours for anyone not to realise that behind the scenes there are money issues.

Other clubs will no doubt struggle as the financial plight of the country emerges we need to make sure that Wakefield is in a strong position.

Personally I would charge £15 for adults £5 for 15 to 18's and OAPs and let the rest in for nothing radical perhaps but it gives the sporting team back to the masses of the City.

I'm happy at the price cuts but I don't think it was a commercial or long term success doing it for the Wigan game. If we play well against Hull and KR it might bring a few floating fans back and make slight amends for the Pie disaster.

I get the season ticket as it supposedly helps my club by having the cash up front. The financial benefits to me never come into it. The fact that a deprive my club of some cash by getting some games for free worries me so I just get some extra junk from the shop. icon_lol.gif

Wouldn't really worry me if they filled the ground with freebies for the rest of the season if it helps us get another licence.

It's a bit like buying shares really. Another excuse to hand over some cash with nothing in return other than you're doing what you can to keep the club alive. I don't begrudge the non shareholders who stand along side me every game. icon_kiss.gif
