Didn't go but this looks like yet ANOTHER poor second half, which could be down to a number of reasons.

1. Fitness- action - Colin change the training around
2. Half time team talk - JK needs to change the spiel he's giving out.

Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we had 2 hookers and 1 prop on the bech meaning the pack will have been tierd towards the end of the game espescially with the heat in the south of France.

I dont blame the players for this because its not their fault that the coach can't seem to pick a sensible bench.

We didn't - it was Charlie - not Latu - on the bench!

May be supporters should also check the facts !

Latu is back home, big charlie was on the bench along with Moore, Rinaldi and Kermond. Now to me that looks like 2 props an hooker and a backrower, quite a good balanced bench in my opinion.

i appologise for my incorrect comment, i got my info from sky sports and sporting life who both had the bench as being Moore, Kirmond, Rinaldi and Leo-Latu.

I would like to with draw my previous comment.

Sorry for any inconveniance caused.

On Sky Sports website, Kear is saying that the try Catalans scored 5 minutes before half time was the catalyst for them winning the game.

There's a pattern emerging here...

Bradford Home - Wakefield in the lead, Bradford try just before half-time, Bradford win the game
Leeds @ Murrayfield - Wakefield in the lead, Leeds try just on half-time, Leeds win game
Leeds Away - Wakefield in the lead, Leeds try just before half-time, Leeds win game
Catalans Away - Wakefield in the lead, Catalans try 5 minutes before half-time, Catalans win the game

Major problem. Forget the second half, it's the first half where we're losing it.

Exactly what I was thinking - but the problem seems to be that we are poop scared that if we do concede just before half time, it must be inevitable that we are going to lose!

There are patterns re-appearing that under-mined this club before JK's arrival and it is difficult to know how to stop them! icon_sad.gif

It's the 'big red self-destruct button' rearing it's ugly head again.

Concede just before half time, heads go down, game is lost before the half-time team talk.

The point is - like then - we can play well enough to get ourselves into winning situations, but then we seem - psychologically - not to believe in the fact that we can win.

I remember well that on the things Shane was about to try was to bring in a psychologist to work on the lads self-belief. He was roundly criticised at the time for it! icon_confused.gif

It seems weird being down to confidence (which I think it has all year) as there are so many experienced lads in the side. I think we have the squad and coach but maybe we just need a roof, this might have been the missing ingredient over the last 11 years?

It was actually quite parky, so that is no excuse, and in the last twenty minutes, they looked fast and incisive, and we were struggling.

The try before half-time was another problem.

What I noticed was that a lot of the players were barking at the tough judge (with some justification, to be fair), but it suggested some frustration on the players' part. We looked a bit beaten by the end, and had it gone on for another ten minutes, the gap in the scores would have got bigger, not narrower.

To be honest we once again run out of steam towards the end of the game. Considering some of the crap the players were eating on the plane going to France and at the airport, I'm not surprised.

On the plus side, all the team were really friendly and chatted with the fans on the flight. Special mentions to Smurf, Fergy & Luke who were great with the kids...but apparently not very good on the DS!! You wouldn't get it from those overpaid prima donnas in South Africa!!

Confidence is key in all things. Human Beings operate best when they do things unconsciously. Its what is commonly referred to as 'being in the zone'. When you don't have to think about what you are doing. It just comes naturally. That's why confidence is worth it's weight in gold.

As for how it affects experienced players, just look at the shower who are representing the national side in South Africa. Some of them look like they've never seen a ball before. Rooney, for one so usually sure of himself, looks like a pub team player rather than the player destroying all before him for Man Utd.

The very best players will dig deep and focus to get themselves out of a rut. Poorer players will find this difficult.

I thought the Quins result and the decent performance at Leeds would have given them the necessary belief to make a go of the rest of the season, perhaps the uncertainty over Kears future may have hindered that.

After 30 mins we're blowing - see it most games. As far as I see it this is part of preseason preparation and conditioning. We ought to be looking at what programs the backroom staff come up with for getting the team fit for a year in SL. Remember the fitness bloke we had in 2004 - we got stronger as games went on, often being down at half time and coming back to win.

Thats the type of fitness we need back
