| Salford's non-performance in the first half killed the game as a spectacle, but Trinity still had a job to do and went about it in a professional manner.
The contest improved in the second, Trinity opened up, bombed a few chances and Salford couldn't have played worse. Solid performance from 1 to 17. Obst took over Brough's mantle comfortably. He plays like that for the rest of the season Trinity won't miss Brough too much.
I'm a little concerned about the attendance. Sub 5k on a perfect day to watch RL.

| I thought he looked OK and shows touches of class now and agin especially with the long kick which bisects the defence every time.

| Came on just before half time and played the rest of the game.
He took ball up well, Kicking game was spot on and will complement sams too, not upto speed with moves plays (but thats to be expected) good handling looked to be organising the attack at times.
Pretty pleasing debut tbh.

| Obst and Morrison outstanding behind a very dominant pack!
After a blistering start it was always gonna be tougher 2nd half as Salford were never gonna be as bad as they were 1st half.
Cooke came on when the game was already won, a couple of nice kicks, but rusty overall and probably glad to get that gametime.
All in all a pleasing afternoon's work...

| Happy with result. Agree with upthecats about Cooke looking a little rusty although kicking game looked very good. Gledhill made another impressive contribution and the forwards overall were very dominant. I think Sam may need to work on his goalkicks though.

A little harsh IMO - the first time he kicked a goal was last season against Hull KR IIRC, has he ever been a goal-kicker at any club? He's suddenly found himself in the position where he is the number one choice, but I expect Cooke to take that role very soon.
Having said that, he will still be second choice and so could do with a little extra training just in case - he could be a pretty good kicker.

Just thinking of the old ticker and some of the games we've won and lost over the years.

for me its just that these types of games have been our downfall too many times over the years, today we did the job well.
