| i don't know how long murphy is contracted for but judging by the start of the season and last years when he wasn't injured, i would have in to the office and offer an improved contract to keep him, i have a feeling that he is going to be a very good player in the future.  |

Interesting extract in that article suggesting blaymire was fit enough to play but murphy was prefered. if so, even more credit to murphy for keeping an establish full back out of the side and putting on an established display.
murphy certainly looks a better full back than a winger.

Well done Murphy. Wouldn't mind seeing him in his natural position of centre but if he carries on doing well at fb then why fix it if its not broken. How did Gleeson go yesterday? I'm never confident when they attack down his side.

Murphy's impressed me since his debut at Wing. From what i gather his natural position is centre, but from what i've seen pre season, and by all accounts he was superb yesterday then could he be our long term fullback?

I dont like to argue but....
Murphy is no where near the right size for centres at the moment, even though JK said he does not look like a natural player I think he needs to bulk up more before going in there.
Also Gleeson from maybe a few weeks in to the last season and definitely in the pre-season has show how he can defend.
But quality to see Murph given the nod he has looked brilliant in pre-season, my MOM on boxing day easily |
