Can I just remind everyone about the sessions run by the community department on a Wednesday teatime for youngsters. I realize that it could be difficult for some as they are only coming home from work then, but it is a great opportunity to get the kids out into the fresh air and enjoying themselves for only £1.50 a session. It is a great pity to see only a handful of kids attending, and the lack of numbers means that they are restricted in what they can do with the children. Please spread the word and hopefully more of our kids can benefit.

unfortunately this clashes with the kids training , if you are lacking numbers this might be a reason as quite a few clubs train on wednesdays although of course someone will obviously prove me wrong icon_lol.gif

There are in fact sessions on a monday and wednesday. 4.30 - 5.15 for up to 7's and 5.15 - 6.15 I think for the over 7's. My little un goes to both at 4.30. Monday there was only 2 of them!

Would benefit from a few more

Yes I had forgotten about the Monday sessions. I think originally Monday was supposed to be beginners rugby sessions while Wednesday was more multisports but I don't know if that still applies. Last Wednesday we had two in the first session and three in the second which is pretty poor really.

Wasnt on last wed as half term.

Last year it was all ages come to one. Little ones messed about a bit but had a great time. (see group pic on kids bebo page) Have suggested one again to community team. 4.30 really is difficult to get to but I manage it because he likes going.

Mon is supposed to be rugby with wed multi sports but they are both just really fun times.

Suprised more dont come. I joined in monday and it feels great to be on the hallowed turf

Where is this advertised? Is it something that Davide and co promote when they go into schools?

Sorry I meant this week on Wednesday! icon_surprised.gifops:

I think it was mainly advertised through Junior Wildcats and flyers in schools. Trouble is if my son is anything to go by I have to search for any letters etc from school!

4 today for the beginners rugby 4.30-5.15 session

One of them was a Rhino fan wearing a rhino's shirt (dont know the background as to why he was there!) but heard his dad comment on how good it was

My son went tonight for first time. I watched from touch line. It was a quality session coached very well by a guy who was really good with the kids ( well done!). Seems you can just turn up and join in (£1.50). No need for a regular commitment which for some kids is too much on top of everything else they do. About a dozen there tonight. It would be good to see this type of initiative taking off. On a similar note Cats bar was full of girls dancing. I know this activity does not sit well with some traditionalists but if it gets folk involved I'm all for it.

Well done Community Dept!
