£50,000 would need to be multiplied by at least 2, probably 3 times, to even come close matching the salaries that top Union players like O'Driscoll would be earning. You certainly wouldn't get much of a player for that amount of money.

Who says its a top RU player he is really after for that kind of money you might get a big lumbering prop because that what he's after and nobby might have one lined up already he may just need the go a head from the rugby league.

I may be wrong but i got the impression that the plan would be to sign the players for a lot more than 50k but it would only count for 50k on the salary cap record?
