| With Cas visiting Belle Vue on Sunday, why aren't the club promoting the fixture ?
We've had poor attendance at home all season and the Cas game should be our 2nd best attended home fixture (after Leeds) but, there is nothing on the club website to even hint of the game, it's bizarre.
Of course the regular fans know what's going on but how do we expect to increase numbers at home games.
We are likely to be outnumbered by the Cas fans but more has to be done to "sell" the game.
Even so close to the game, surely it's possible to get some promotion work done on Saturday in the precinct in Wakefield. ????

| They're really not very good at this stuff currently and they really need to take down those match hoardings dotted about the outskirts of town, last used in 2013.

| M C not in to promoting or marketing , hes not convinced of the return.
We MUST be the only club that does not make an effort. What happened to the x Man utd marketing person.
I despair at the effort the clubs puts in regarding promoting the club. We know we are in the 8s but nothing seems to be taking place to increasing the gates for the home games.
Less said the better im afraid. Don't see things changing.

They do update the website regularly so, what I cant understand is why the opening page isn't heavily advertising the next home game ??
There is an "advert" for Huddersfield tickets and travel but, nothing about our 2nd biggest home game of the season

| What happened to the Man Utd marketing bod we employed some months ago?!
End of term on Friday in Wakey; I'd have badged it as an end of term bash and been into as many schools and colleges as I could, with discounted tickets for students and teachers - it would have been straightforward to come up with a one-time deal to entice kids to come, who inevitably bring adults. Maybe get some school bands, gymnastics teams, even rugby teams to play each other - pre-match and half-time entertainment sorted out, all based loosely around the end of term theme.
It's not rocket science - but it does require a bit of vision and some investment.

| Like I said M C aint in to speculate to accumulate . And I doubt very much that any kind of investment will be thrown at it.
With regard the £2 pint you can visit most city centr pubs and find £2 a pint on offer and you don't have to spend £22 to get in.
Any body with any idea to what did happen to the Man U marketing person.

Verity (ex Man Utd) still works at the club, I think they are more focused on sponsors and selling out hospitality than promoting the game to the fans on the terraces
Getting really frustrated with it, the 6000 fans keeps getting mentioned but how do you get fans into the ground when they don't do anything about it. You have to invest in marketing to get the fans in, putting a few tweets and a few things on FB isnt very good.
Social media should be hammered to promote the game, old stories and highlights of games from the past. Get the rivalry buzzing but we fail on every level of marketing.

Agreed.
Although the City vs Town promotion wasn't managed very well on matchday, it certainly caused enough of a stir to get just shy of 10,000 fans into the place and whilst the club make more brass out of the "prawn sandwich" brigade, another 5000 fans at £22 a pop would certainly boost the clubs coffers.

| I haven't posted on here for a while, but this thread is good one.
I can't see how it would cost that much for a few posters and ask the local shops in the city to put one in the window so people know whats going on, the city nowadays doesn't even know we have a sports team. Seem to have just fallen off the map.

| As bren2k has mentioned get in the schools with discounted tickets even junior school free child ticket there is then chance the child wants to come and that in turn gets the parents to come who buy a ticket. If the only place you advertise the game is on your web site then the only people you will get is the ones who visit the web site get the game up on 4 strategic hoardings 1 on Donny road 1 on Barnsley road and 1 on Leeds road at newton hill and one on Aberford road that's the major routes in and out of Wakey covered. Carlsberg probably the best advertised beer in the world it sells the god damn awful stuff same thing as Heineken was not known in the UK and then after a massive advertising effort we could not fill enough barrels with the stuff.Im not saying go overboard and spend a fortune but a little in the right direction would help.

Also seem to remember season ticket holders were promised a summer BBQ with the players, heard nothing further.

| Club promotion is crap. Without promoting the club attendances will continue to decrease and the demise of Wakefield Trinity will continue. Some say a winning team is the best form of promotion which to a certain extent is true, however, how on earth do you get a winning team on sub 3K home crowds
Carter has done a lot of good during his tenure but this has never sat well with me. Whilst the whole thing was built on sand, Glover knew how to create anticipation and build a bit of a buzz about the club. I’ve said it on another thread, who would realise Wakefield Trinity existed within the city boundary if you didn’t already know? I would guess many would think it’s a shopping centre primarily.
The club players are an asset. They spend enough time in Costa anyway so why not get them in Trinity Walk or the percent every Saturday afternoon preceding a Sunday match. Create a bit of a carnival event with music, competitions and photo opportunities. Engage with your potential consumer base. Don’t ignore them to only expect them to turn up with no incentive. History shows they will not.
