According to Salford board they got Tim Smith off the quota due to us needing to seek him and Salford wanted dispensation for buying him. Can anyone confirm this. They seemed to think daddy cool would confirm this.

We needed to sell, they gave us some cash and saved us some of his salary.

If the RFL are stupid enough to allow them to use that to get around the overseas quota (bearing in mind they were not fully up to quota anyway) then more fool them.

it sounds feasible, they gave dispensation to Sammut, Mellars, Witt, Chan plus a number of others when Crusaders went pop. Big rumour that the RFL are set to increase the non-fed limit anyhow due to the reduction in academy teams which, quite frankly, is an awful decision.

it seems to me that Salford gunna try everything in there power to bend rules and buy a super team, I don't think he should be off quota he asked to go from what I understand and they signed another kiwi yesterday, so imho they trying to find loop hole to get quota spots to sign more overseas players

It was never mentioned? I asked for a sum of money. They paid. End of. I never ever spoke to the rfl about Tim smith?

It might well be that Koukash has lodged a bid, along the lines of " If you need to sell give us first option". Doesn't mean the players are going...Then again.

He told everyone he didn't want to go which was a lie. It seems that Salford are untouchable. Its also now looks as if the doctor is buying the oldham football team and rugby league team too.
