| Getting very exciting isn't it?
Hull FC 31 Points +34
Trinity 30 Points +68
Wigan 29 Points +65
Saints 27 Points +93
Although Hudds and Salford can mathematically still make it, it looks like 2 of the above 4 teams for the 3rd and 4th places. IF we beat St Helens Thursday night they can't catch us so it would be a massive win.
All in all a huge game Thursday, I know a Thursday night SKY game isn't ideal but let's do what we can to get
BV rocking and get behind this special bunch of players!

Was just gonna say that.
Regardless of the next couple of weeks, there'll only be the odd point between you so the winner of that is bound to make it.

Winning next week would defo take some pressure off because it'd then give you two bites of the cherry.
Effectively you need 2 wins

| Yeah probably 2 wins required, 2 home games left. In our own hands so's to speak.

| Hi all, Wakey based Hull FC fan here.
I am hoping my lot can make a big impact on the outcome of the final two play off positions next Friday by beating Wigan at the KC.
Personally, given Wakey were considered relegation fodder before the season started, I thing Chester is a great shout for Coach of the Year.

With Wigan playing Hull next week (we could do with a draw there ), we could start to look at 3rd spot.
If ever there was a time for Trinity fans to throw a sickie and get of their backsides and make the effort to come down to Belle Vue, Thursday against Saints the game.
So, come on, lets be having you !
We need BV rocking and a strong home support and let's help the boys get another win.
Come on Trin !

| With Hill playing Wigan next week, two wins would mathmatically make Wakefield finish in the top four.
As the man who has never seen an RL game in his life this may look stupid, but Wigan have a very difficult end to the season & will have to perform miracles to win the three matched that they would require. Away to Hull & Wakefield as well as home to Castleford.
Hull have a better program as Wigan & Wakefield are at home along with the visit to the Champions. St Helens can't be ruled out either as they have still to face the two team's that can't make the play off's.
That is one hell of a finish for all the clubs!
I almost wish I could travel from Ipswich to see these Wakefield games!
COME ON TRINITY. Please!

In any other year, maybe so - but Powell is an absolute shoe-in this year, and rightly so.

If the perfect storm happened we could actually still finish 8th, which just shows how tight it is. It would take Hudds beating Salford Sts and Leeds, Salford beating Leeds and Sts and Sts beating us and losing to the other two.....and Wigan would get 4th!
Equally and far more likely, if we beat Sts at home, we guarantee 5th and it's all in our hands.
As Hong Kong Phooey says Hull could do us a big favour by beating Hull which puts the pressure on them as they have Cas at home the week after.
It could all depend on how seriously Cas take that game. If we beat Sts and Wigan lose to Hull and Cas, it doesn't matter what happens in our games against Wigan or Hull.
I'm thinking Hull will take the games seriously as losing to us and Wigan could drop them to 5th.
All very exciting Wildthing

| You're probably right there Bren but I dont think it is quite as clear cut.
Powell took over at Cas in 2013, and since then they have made steady progress, improving year on year. Up to that they were struggling, and had done for a few years.
Chris Chester has been here 18 months.
On top of this, they are also probably spending the full cap, unlike us.
Had we have been in a position to do so, where could we be now?

I totally agree - but from an optical point of view, it has to be Powell; there'd be outrage otherwise.
Chris Chester has however, without a doubt, done an amazing job - he appears quiet, understated and fairly laid back, but he has instilled something in this team that we haven't seen in a long time.

Not quite, if we did actually win the GF (I know I know) I think it would have to be Chester then.

| CC has done an incredible job this season with us and deserves all the plaudits! We're playing an excellent brand of rugby too which is down to the coaches...Powell is a certainty for coach of the year though...any other year and CC would have walked it...they are a good year or two ahead of us but when you compare to last season many people may forget they only finished a point in front of us at the regular season end...
To be in the position we are now is unreal...3 games to go sat 4th and needing two wins to secure a semi final spot, it's just crazy!
It's in our hands and many people have already decided we won't finish top four...why not though? We're playing well and as Chester said last night other than TJ we have a fully fit squad to choose from...very much different to this time last season...would love it to come down to the last game as a straight knockout against Wigan!
