| I would personally like to record my thanks to JK and his backroom team for the last 5 years or so.
It has without doubt been a roller coaster. Sport like fans has short memoties basically the last result and the next game the rest is history!
What a roller coaster this has been the highs the season John came and we kept our SL place. getting to the semi final of the CC the play off games aqll great memories
The lows some of the tonkings we have had but all clubs get thrashed, this season where I believe the staff have had a hand in not two tied behind their backs as far as experienced playing staff were concerned, on a hiding to nothing we have however won 6 games and that could be 7 tonight (most fitting)
The dignity of Kohn and his leadership with others I might add through terrible times and terrible news in particular deaths of players s=tarting during or coming to the end of their careers.
I have read some rubbish on these boards lately with those having short memories, I do a gree though thatthis role has a shelf life and it is time for pastures new it happens to the vast majority of us in life.
But thanks John for some of the great memories and times you have restiored in this club at times when backs were really against the wall.

| I'll go with those sentiments too.
When JK came we were staring into the Abyss, had we not have won THAT match in 2006 we were gone, and probably not just to the Championship but probably gone as a club. The road hasn't always been as smooth as we all would have wished. But the bloke desrves our thanks. Without his and the players efforts the franchising decision on the 26th July would have been of no interest to us as we wouldn't have been involved.

| Agree, a big thank you and all the best to John.
I genuinely believe his appointment has resulted in us being in Super League now because had we been relegated in 2006 I don't believe the Club at that time had the resources, fans etc. to be able to run a full time squad and bounce back into SL before franchising and we would now still be a Championship Club - just my opinion but thats what I think and owe John. But has been said Coaching goes in cycles and its time for a change for both John and Wakefield.
All the very best John in your Media work and whatever you do in coaching, I for one will always be grateful for your time at Wakefield.

| Agreed,A real roller coaster ride on the field with some tragic lows off and throughout JK has conducted himself with dignity and always presented the club in a positive manner. For this alone JK deserves our thanks and best wishes. I for one would be a customer for any autobiography, bet it would be a damn good read.CHEERS JOHN.

| I would have liked to have seen what he could have done with a better budget, however it was not to be. I think the respect he commands in the game as a whole has helped keep Wakefield afloat over the years he's been here. I for one have never called for his head and I wish him all the best for the future.

| I agree
And I'd go as far as to say that he is one of the most significant appointments we have made since I have been watching. And I go back to the mid 70s
There are milestones in our history such as Wembley days in the 60s and 70s and Wally Lewis arrival etc etc, but possibly less glamorous but equally as significant in our history was the day John Kear came to the club. He steered us away from odds on relegation (from which we would never have recovered imo) and some horrible moments off the field and created a a club and team to be proud of. Through other circumstances that club was dashed for a while but others have luckily picked up the baton.
Good luck for the future John. You'll always be welcome at BV or NM as far as I am concerned.

| Agree with the general sentiment, it gone a bit pear shaped in the last 18 month which was definitely not all JK's fault but that should not over shadow a top 6 appearances, a CCup Semi Final lost on kicks and generally being in the top half of the table for the last 5 seasons - and of course saving us in 2006. Can't think of a Coach in the last 30 years to better that.
Really hope we win tonight as I don't think Kear deserves to end his time at BV as the only coach to finish bottom.
