I was looking at the Toulouse squad last night, shame we can’t do some swapping with their players. Bretherton and Armitage maybe. Shame their season still in progress, Let’s hope this winger takes his chance. Let’s be fair, he will be faster than Taufua, most will be (get him into the second row!)

All they need to have is a modicum of the required skills for their positions and enthusiasm.
If they have that then they’ll be an upgrade on Torfua and Atoni

Toulouse are absolutely terrible this year and bear no resemblance to their SL team of last year or the Championship-winning team of 2021. They've had a lot of problems with injuries and it has exposed their lack of depth, they've lost 5 games already including their last 3 against Swinton, Batley and London.

Maybe we are looking at build our championship squad for next season

Trialists can't play in first team anymore due to the salary cap regulations so it will be a case of seeing how they go in training and the reserves for up to a month.

What date are we looking at?

Not seen the rule about trialists before Sacred.
Hopefully it's just a terminology thing and we actually signed a short term contract with them instead.

Yeah, i presume the rule was brought in to stop a team bringing in a short term star player on megabucks and it not counting on the cap so as you say if they have been registered as trailists they'll have to upgrade them to full time players to play first team. For info the rule states....

'C:1:1:21 Trailists are prohibited from participating in a Salary Cap Relevent Match or any other Challenge Cup Match'.
