Think more used the coach for Salford due to potential parking problems. I'm off but haven't decided by what transport method yet. So far only walking and cycling discounted.

Not been to Leigh before anyone know what the car parking is like

Anyone ever been to Leigh on the train? as its on a Saturday could be a good day out

About 800 free spaces on site, and further free spaces on the Parsonage retail park over the bridge just past the ground, the town centre car parks are pay and display about a 10 min walk to LSV, and there’s also parking provided at Leigh Miners Rangers and Leigh RU think they both charge a few quid, and are again about 10 mins to LSV.



Not for the last 40 odd years.

If it’s a serious question train to Manchester Piccadilly/Victoria, and then X34 bus from Piccadilly to Leigh about 40mins. You can get to Atherton by train but would still need to bus it (582 Bolton to Leigh) from there about 4 miles to LSV.

We went for the Salford game there a couple of seasons ago and parked in the car park outside the ground. NEVER AGAIN!!. took over an hour to get away afterwards .

we will look at one of the other car parks or go on the bus this time.

I never park there myself but an hour is an exaggeration, I sometimes go in the Whistling Wren the on site pub after the game for a quick pint, and within about 30 minutes or so most of the traffic has gone. My 70yr neighbour with walking difficulties parks there and is home 3 miles away having had to drive through the town centre within about 40 minutes of the game finishing.

People seem to forget if you park on site its 2 minute walk to your car, not 20 plus like at some places. I parked at Eccles Rugby club on Sunday because of the ‘parking issues’ at Salford but all the coaches passed us, and most cars before I’d reached the motorway junction and I still had a further 5 minute walk.

We parked on site just up the left hand side of the stadium last time. We arrived early to watch the Catalans v Bradford game, in a local pub, as our game was a late kick off.
No big problems getting out just the usual post match traffic. Was a pretty poor crowd though for that Salford game as there was no proper home support and the Salford fans had a bit of a boycott going I seem to remember.
