| I know rumours were circling a few months ago regarding Salford being on the verge but talking to a couple of Salford fans at wembley and they seemed to think the RL are keeping them afloat until the end of the season. Who will it be next and what will the RFL do next.

| I did hear a rumour that Salford were struggling and that SL was going to be reduced to 12 at the end of the season with both Bradford and Salford going, but recent events appear to contradict that rumour so who knows

| If true, just goes to show that unless carefully managed new stadiums are not always the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We have the momentum at the moment and we have the ambition and leadership,so let's not ever get complacent or self satisfied.
TOGETHER we are STRONGER.

Damn right.
A new ground does nothing to gaurentee success. However in our case, when the club is moving forward pretty well, the new stadium should take us to the next level.
As we are averaging over 8000 this season, it is not unreasonable to assume that we should get somewhere near the magic 10,000 at Newmarket, but it wont be easy
and we need to keep building momentum.
Another strong season next year would be an excellent springboard.

| Moving away from where has always been home (especially some distance as we are and as Salford have) needs to be managed well.
The thing with Salford is there was a huge amount of apathy from the supporters towards the club and that was reflective in their support base at the time.
In our case we are on the up both in interest and attendances, and we can be seen to be heading in the right direction both on and off the field.
Had we been under the previous regime I would suggest we could suffer similar problems to those experienced by Salford.
That said it is still a fragile thing, numbers, interest and success needs to be seen to be continuing in the same way it has since AG took over, and situations managed to the best ends of the club, this is as much about perseption and marketing as it is reality.
This move could be the greatest thing to happen for a long time, I'm sure Salford thought, and still think this is the case for them too.
Like Salford, geography is against us, but everything else is in our favour. I still think we need a good slice of luck though, weather that is on the pitch, in the stands, behind the scenes at the club or in some office when decisions are being made.
There is still a lot of bum twitching to be done.

You make a great point. The build up to a change as big as this is very important. We are lucky that the change to the Glover era has happened before the 'house move'. In actual fact, although not pleasant right now, the delays to the building work may in the long run be beneficial to us. It will give us chance to build the team and the support in a relatively successful period of the club and go to the new stadium with fireworks and fanfare.
As you say, I hate to think how it would have been with the previous regime (accepting they did a lot of work to get this going)
I'm reading Robie Paul's book and he talks about the NZ Warriors entry into the NRL. I'd forgotten but they were signing players and actually playing junior teams in the Aussie lower leagues two years before the senior team played a game. They generated a frenzy about the team before they even passed a ball.
Lots of work to do yet but I'm happy that we are doing it in the right way and I think, with the wind behind us, we could change the destiny of Wakefield Trinity with this move.

| They will buy their stadium, advance them some cash, offer to buy the club and put them in Superleague next year like they have Bradford of course.
What other fair outcome could there be?

my fear ref Newmarket its too far out of Wakefield fans will be put off if car parking is difficult and transport links are not put in place

| It was said that there was ample car parking and there will be buses from Wakefield city centre on match days.

If I remember correctly:
There will be car parking, but it won't be cheap.
I think each car has to have 3 people in it, so there'll be plenty picking up en route.
You can reserve a place with your season ticket.
Bus would be best although I'll be walking
A new prematch ritual will have to be established. Will people use the bars in the ground, or in Stanley, or in town before catching the bus?

from what I can remember there's only one pub at close walking distance
I'll find it easy via the motorway but will still be using the car unless transport is made easier then we could use it, as it is we would have to catch two buses now from wreny

| From the plans our new ground looks like its just behind the moorhouse estate so easy walking distance from the stanley pubs plus wouldn't be surprised if one opens up on the development
