They will be confident (hopefully too confident!!) after a good win against the saints, equally we will be buoyed by our performance against Hull.
I'm looking forward to seeing how we acquit ourselves against a very good side.
I'd make one or two changes if i were RA, but as ever this season, i am looking forward to seeing us play and looking for a few improvements along the way.
I think we should start to see a more cohesive looking side capable of matching many of our competitors.
All fit, i'd go:
1 Mathers
2 Cockayne
3 Collis
4 Mellars
5 Fox
6 John
7 Smith
8 Wilkes
9 Wood
10 Raleigh
11 Southern
12 Kirmond
13 Aiton
14 Lauititi
15 Ellis
16 Johnson
17 Washbrook, Walshaw or Trout.
I'd also be including two or three of the other youngsters playing well in the reserves in the match day group to get them used to the big day set up.

Not a pessimist by nature but when it comes to this fixture I accept we are very likely to get hammered - what a graveyard fixture this one is. It's the only game of the season I actually DO NOT look forward to. icon_sad.gif

The most satisfying victories are the ones gaind when the team has been written off, I would certainly take a repeat of last years result at BV.
Dont even mind if it rains, cos we've got the new stand icon_biggrin.gif
BTW is there any chance of Amor being available ?

I don't remember being so elated about a dull, muddy, grimy win than when we turned Shudds over at our place last season; I was stood under me brolly, soaking wet and freezing me thruppeny bits off, grinning from ear to ear. It was made all the sweeter by watching two loud-mouthed old Shudds fans who were belittling us and laughing about how we were going down, get quieter and quieter until they slunk off back down to the away end, to stand with the other 4 who'd turned up.

It probably won't happen next week, but the chance that it will is what keeps us turning up; it would be particularly pleasing to stuff them with half their team made up of former Wakey players, and Muphy bringing the water on.

We might of beaten saints so yes confidence will be high but i think most fans from both teams yesterday will admit we was second best for that game and we didn't play too good against london week before so you never know. I never enjoy going to wakefield as you know it will be a tough game and you have a decent squad this year so i think it will be close and hopefully the giants will edge it icon_smile.gif

Do not agree with dropping Washbrook or putting Aiton to loose.
We will lose twice doing that.
Washbrook has made a few try assists for us when others are not and is tackling his heart out.
Leave him at 13.

has wakefield got segregation now then ? i've always stood down the terrace at the side with 90% of the rest of our fans........didnt realise we were in the wrong place for away fans, many apologies !!

Hopefully the weather will be better this year and we can actually play rugby unlike your win last year ....which doesn't count cos of the weather curtain.gif curtain.gif icon_lol.gif

Most away fans chose to stand behind the sticks apart from the two Hull clubs who go down the west terrace.

There have never been enough Hudds fans for me to notice where they are - but if you require segregation I'm sure you can all stand on one of the balcony's in the flats and we will lock the door if that helps.

No, but that day was one of the few times I wished it had; they were two of the most objectionable, arrogant and obnoxious old tw@s it's ever been my misfortune to encounter at a RL ground; I think they escaped a clout only by virtue of being old.

Watching them slink off with their tails between their legs was a moment of sunshine in an otherwise wet and miserable day.

No segregation at our place, stand where you like, or pay a couple of quid extra for a seat. It would be nice if your fans turned up in good number and not just bring a couple of car loads.
Make the effoert, your supposed to be a BIG club now icon_lol.gif

Hopefully the weather will be better this year and we can actually play rugby unlike your win last year ....which doesn't count cos of the weather Away fans usually stand back of sticks on the north bank, the western terrace has in recent seasons become the Wakefield faithful terrace and now a roof for the chav corner. With the good form your in hopefully you'll bring a few and it'll be a good atmosphere. I'd stand on the north bank if I was you but there's no segregation
