| hi guys im sorry to see what wakey have gone through over the past weeks but now with glover in charge hopefully the club can progress and move on. just wondering whats the thoughts on a potential move to oakwell not to sure on how serious the club are on moving there but MartynSadler in the league express seems to think that the move will happen and it will be announced mid season time, now obviously bell vue isnt good enough and the newmarket project dint go to plan so what options have the wildcats got beacuse i know im not the only one who dosent want to see wakey go down and with oakwell been a top stadium and would be 1 of the best then looks a good bet for me but what would the response be by the fans and would the crowds be good and improve

| It'll be a better venue than Wheldon Road. So, we have that box ticked when applications come.
As for crowds and that, its difficult to say. There are so many more variables that could affect who turns up. Some fans won't want to travel, some fans will do it anyway, some folk might go because they never liked Belle Vue. It depends which division we're in and how well the team do this year and next. Also, there's a question mark over how many folk from Barnsley will turn up.
The main thing for the board to get right is marketing. If we're going to Oakwell it needs to be marketed to death, something I wasn't confident about with the old board, but hopefully this time around things will be different.

| Oakwell is the prefered choice from the available options I think.
If Super League fans are to be believed then our crowds should improve at Oakwell. We don't have much home support to lose and the majority of away fans reckon that the state of Belle Vue puts many off travelling.

| I seem to remember that Mr Glover said in one of his interviews that we will be moving to Oakwell as a tempory measure.

| Oakwell would be a stop gap between moving into Newmarket. In general, it's been accepted that to regain a franchise we would need to move to Oakwell, and fans are supportive of the move. In terms of attendances, well that's guess work.
But with the right people marketing the club i'd suggest most fans will follow the club there in the 1 or 2 seasons were based there along with an increase in away fans who attribute the reason for not attending due to the stadium.

Would certainly show us how many were using that as a genuine reason. I would guess that most use it as a mere excuse, just to stay away.

| Oakwell is a cracking stadium (bar the west stand which is seriously outdated) and would be a good "rental" home, and as said before it may get interest from local residents who thenn get bit by the bug and keep watching when we move to a new home.
truth is it is a short term solution to a huge problem and i for one think it is a good one

| would the crowds be enough to offset the rent/stadium costs. though? as wasn't that the problem before, after all I'm sure Mr Glover Doesn't want to be funding shortfalls from his own pockets does he,he wants the business to be sustainable.

Good question, i'd give Glover time. He did mention that there was an agreement in place which just needed a little bit of work. He hasn't got to where he is in life by making reckless decisions. I'm sure that being sustainable in the long term is at the forefront of his thought and if that can be acheived at Oakwell then all the better
