| What staggers me is that he has to explain any of this.
I'm not MENSA, I don't have a degree, I've never run a RL club.
Yet to me it's all self evident and always was.
However out of all the things he said the most important point is this...
It wouldn't matter how much we spent on players or where we finish this season, THE GAME WAS UP, we'd have been kicked out even if we reached a GF. It's not an either or, the Council had condemned the North Stand and the RFL had condemned BV full stop, and lets be right they have given us 24 years grace!!!
Yes the team is threadbare, we may well get relegated but that's irrelevant because as I say we always would have been. These people spouting on about all the money invested in the ground and nothing on the team need to get this through their skulls. There was never any choice, Ground first, team second.
A Trinity in the Championship is better than no Trinity at all, that is the stark truth - this season is the ultimate last throw of the dice and always was, even if we'd signed the entire Australian Test Squad it will still be BV that decides it all.

The problem could be that Trinity in the championship could also mean no Trinity at all. We will have to cover the loss of the Sky money plus service the loan on the ground. We cannot do this on increased revenue from the ground alone so we would have to go through further cost cutting measures.
We would start next season with no squad and a lot of debt. I know you are not MENSA material but this must be the obvious conclusion.
The Chairman doesn’t believe in promotion and relegation so please explain what our route would be back to SL.
With regards the ground how much have we actually invested as a club above what we received from outside sources. I would also add how many of us not in your lofty position knew we were operating under an exemption from the RFL and why this season surely there were many when this could have been withdrawn.

The ground as it was required constant maintenance and generated no additional income. The ground as it will be should be cheaper to maintain and will generate extra revenue. We need a Derek Beaumont, but none are queuing up. The ground had to come first.
Further, there is no indication from anywhere that the IMG criteria applies to existing Super League clubs alone. There are three tiers. Those who we expect to be Grade A. Those who will always be Championship clubs. And those clubs in between, which probably includes us, Cas, Bradford, London, Toulouse, maybe York with a longer term view. The issue will whether IMG intend to grow the game so that a bigger Super League is sustainable, or will focus on a smaller league with a once in a lifetime application.
I imagine the model might be more similar to the NRL, where you can get admittance if you can submit a good enough proposal, and the league expands. With a new ground, and the growth it will create, that is the route. There has to be a route.

I can’t answer for Vastly but I do know what I’ve seen and heard, and if pushed I could probably find the reports to back up. The Directors of Trinity I believe spent of their own money £1.2 million, mostly on New Floodlights, new roof on the community Hub and the large new Screen on the North Terrace.
Regarding the threat of being relegated from SL due to BV not up to SL standards, this has been well documented over the years, even the fact that Trinity had Skys monies reduced due to poor stadium facilities.

If that was been communicated the Club form the powers that be why did IMG just give the Ground criteria a weighting of 15%. It's basically given Cas a lifeline.

The RFL, not IMG, who've only been involved in the last 18 months or so. The start of all this proceeds IMG.
Cas must've had the same threats, if not questions should be asked.

| There are some very wealthy people in Wakefield. Whether they are happy to lose how ever much a year is another question.
