My kids and G kids grew up with the "Wildcat" moniker yet none of them refer to the club as such. So probably no need to worry about the kids. The only problem I had was lazy journalists or TV presenters, Brian Carney excluded, referring to us as "Wakefield Wildcats." I mean, no one calls HKR "Hull Rovers" Even players like Ben Jones Bishop gets his full name and that geezer from Leeds too.
Great move then.
Ha! Just noticed, even the YP article has not used "Trinity" in the title.

Both my grandkids use Wildcats and my Grandson who is 13 says his mates use Rhinos or Tigers not Leeds or Cas so while I guess its an age thing its certainly not going to suit everyone but FWIW I sit in the Wakefield trinity camp as I just couldn't warm to the Wildcats image |

To be fair, some of the monikers work. Bradford Bulls, Cas Tigers, Leeds Rhinos are all fine.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats however, is just a mouthful.
I'm happy to be going back to Trinity and we will still be using the Wildcats as a nickname for the kids, so a win/win imo. |

Very happy with the change, and have rarely used the Wildcats tag myself over the past 15 years.
How about when next years shirt comes out to even put a fleur de lys on the design, making a bold statement that we are going back to tradition, whether it is a blue on a white shirt, with a red trim, or other way round

Really pleased with this move and yes MC has made a cracking decision that will no doubt increase merchandise income dramatically in 2017. It's so much more classy than the wildcat logo.
Isn't it great to be a Trinity fan at the moment. Long may it continue.
