What a sad state of affairs, segregation is the only way forward.

I agree , however it comes as a matter of course at all modern stadia. I can't see how it can be totally enforced at Belle Vue
you have to feel sorry for the club on this

You're right the main away support should be on the western terrace the odd 1 or 2 scattered about isn't a problem it's when you get a few in you increase the chances of incidents happening. The way I saw it was Bradford fans starting to abuse Wakefield fans and some Wakefield responding. If Bradford weren't in the north stand it wouldn't have happened.

Stewards should direct away supporters to the western terrace before entering the ground, as once in via doncaster road it
is harder to do.

ALL away fans know the North stand is our "home/vocal" end.Do we congregate in the southstand or Weldon road end NO!!! Because
we respect it is there "end".

Bradford clearly made a point of turning up on mass to occupy the North stand, were we not then supposed to go in there ourselves.

With our ever dwindling support the club and players need us to be heard, not the away fans.

or why not identify the people causing problems at your games and ban them and make your ground a bit more welcoming to away supporters rather than just saying you can't stand there unless you wanna get a smack of one of our idiot fans.

There were no stewards inside the ground when I entered at half two. Were they only employed to work form ten to three onwards I wonder. It’s no wonder the North Stand has a fair few Bulls fans in.

Having said that I don’t think segregation would’ve changed the behaviour of the moronic element of our supporters. They still shout disparaging remarks to Cas fans about their sexual partners all with from the safety of a line of stewards.

It worked well enough against Cas. Seemed to be only a few Cas who were with Wakefield supporters in the North Stand. I'm not sure if any additional bodies were required to achieve the result from the stewarding team but it was worth it. Potential additional cost was weighed up against another RFL fine I'm sure.

There seems be an attitude of 'we'll take the North Stand' from visiting fans this year as well, maybe online keyboard heroes but it does create a grudge ahead of games and again points to segregation being the way forward. The unacceptable to conclusion to hostilities on Saturday seems to have been rooted in some gobbing off getting out of hand. Avoidable if only a moderate level of segregation was in place.

all well and good but how many times has the club had to release these statements?
it's clearly not working.

these problems only seem to have come to light since the roof was put on the north stand, although we've always had problems down the side with the odd few numpties i don't remember anything particularly unsavoury as has been the case for the last few years.

I was in the ground from 1PM there stewards all over the place, when I went round from the East stand to the pie stall on the North West corner at approx 2pm there was a line of three stewards on the North West Corner as fans were coming in from the turnstiles.

Exactly if I went in the Hull KR hull Leeds wire cas stand I'd watch what I said or expected abuse it's always been the case. Some fans nowadays have no common sense or lead a very sheltered life.

He'll probably had his nose in his phone and not noticed them, but offered the interesting theory that they only get paid from ten to three onwards, sad really if true icon_rolleyes.gif

I must go to games with my eyes and ears shut I think, or perhaps because I'm more interested in the product on the field I just don't pay much attention to what is going on in the crowd.
I have seen the mention of racial comments, this is the first mention I have noticed of anything other than verbals. I didn't hear or see either to be honest. I don't doubt it happened but I also suspect it was no worse than goes on at every other ground either.
We stood down in the SouthWest corner in the first half and actually enjoyed a chat with some Bradford fans who were stood down there.
In the 2nd half I was stood behind the sticks in the North Stand and there were 3 or 4 Bradford fans directly in front of us that seemed determined to whinge and moan about anything our fans said (even just cheering when our boys scored), which I suspect was brought on by the fact that the party they were expecting just didn't happen for them.
I'm not in any way condoning bad behaviour or comments as I do think some of the chants get out of hand but I suspect that had Bradford been beating us there would be a damn sight less complaints being raised, and actually if you wanted to you could find fault and report fans of every club to stewards.
As I said I must be walking around with my eyes closed if it is much worse at Wakey than anywhere else.
