| The next few weeks will tell and will probably decide his coaching future.
Last year we were rubbish for 2/3 of the season then in the last form had a full team firing on all cylinders.
At the time I honestly thought it to be luck with injuries and a team finally blending - and still do for now.
This year 2/3 of the way through the season and still crappy - even our wins have been unconvincing.
Then last night. Now I know the opposition were poor and we had pretty much a first choice 17 - however you can only play what's in front of you and we did that very well indeed.
So is Agar getting lucky again?
Or is he the first BRITISH coach to really get play off RL?
You see in the Australian mantra for the first 2/3 of a season is you aim to hang in there unless you are a top team and give yourself a shot - you try new players and new patterns and marshall your limited resources (and ours are fairly limited though not the worst) for the final third and possibly play off footy.
See the truth is if we can keep roughly mondays team on the park and in form for the rest of the season we have a chance of play off. It's slim as is any chance of progression but all the same Agar will have achieved his and our primary objective which is to be a top eight team and thus one of the best and not bottom eight also ran.
My minds far from made as to whether it's luck or judgement up but we should know by mid July so not to long to wait.

| I personally don't think we'll make the 8, if we do Ill be over the moon. Luck or individual genius we'll find out. He has done a decent job so far and is adding players to the squad who will do a good job (Tautai, Tuson etc). He hasn't done too bad and the players rate him highly and so do the people who know him also. He knows his rugby league.
However sometimes I don't think you can just blame the coach. If the players dont turn up and no matter how much the coach trys to motivate them and they stay at the same standard of enthusiasm and so on it is the players fault. I don't know whod replace Agar if we did get rid - for me I'm happy at the moment, afterall we have always been on a rollercoaster ride. People need to remember that the Bradford Bulls were deducted points and thats why we were in the playoffs last season.
Only time will tell but I'm happy aslong as the club is improving and it is slowly.

Good point on the signings and the points although that was a known quantity. I forgot to mention, I believe last year about this time it was Sykes and Smith.

Indeed it was. So you have to say he knows where we need more depth.

| For us to make the 8 and on the form of the other clubs, we will need either HKR or Saints to drop out. Brad, Wid, and Wakey all hope to make the 8
HKR have 3 home games left.and a total of 7 games against top 8 teams Sts have 4 home games left, and 5 games against top 8 teams Brad have 6 home, and 5 games against top 8 teams Wid have 5 home. and 5 games against top 8 teams Wakey have 6 home. and 6 against top 8 teams.
To eliminate Brad from the race they have games against Wid at home, Warr at home Wigan away Hull at home and wakey away over the next few weeks, they then play Cats at home Cas away London at home and Hudds at home.
Hkr still have London, Wid and Salford to play but also play Cats, St Hel, Warr, Wigan, Hull and Leeds..
If any teams to drop out it will prob be HKR and providing Brad continue with poor form , we have a shout.
St Hel have a tough run in, but you never know with Saints.

| I think he's doing ok- we've got a competitive, relatively young side together. Don't think we'll get there this season but hopefully it will be close. Some of our defensive structures are controversial, but you can see why we employ them (wingers coming inside for instance.)
As long as we remain competitive for the rest of the season then he should definitely be given the final year of his contract to make a real push for the playoffs. Then if we fancy a change we can part company at no cost.

| I like him.
I see him building something. It would be nice to build faster but I'm think that is beyond our finances.

| I think if Agar were one of the genuinely lucky types, the best team would have beaten Huddersfield, and but for the 7th tackle try against Wire, we might have got a win there too. Add another 4 points to our tally and look where we'd be in the table. Our playoff prospects would seem much more realistic.
I don't know the bloke, or his coaching methods, but from what I can tell, he comes across as a pretty genuine and hard-working guy. If that brings him luck, then he's made it for himself and deserves it.

Hit the nail on the head. I am very grateful of AG investment but we dont seem to be spending as much as other teams.

Just got to use what we've got wisely. Before someone says Lyne, Trout and Molloy isnt using it wisely I doubt they're on alot. However the club is still rebuilding from our debts.

| Working well with what's available to him seems to have a good eye for picking up players . Usually find people who work hard at what they do end up with the luck they deserve.

| We won't make the 8 this year and anyone who expected us to was deluding themselves.
Agar is building something at WTW that hasn't been in place for many a year - a whole systems approach to the game that will see young players join the club as scholars and have a genuine pathway to 1st team; he's hampered by lack of funds and by the decision to do away with the reserves, but what he's trying to achieve is pretty obvious to those who are prepared to be grown up about it and have a bit of patience.
In short, I don't think he's either a genius or lucky - he does seem like a hardworking bloke though and very genuine.

I'm going to come to you're aid here and agree with you, especially the highlighted bit.
