Wow, considering we ended 10th and we’re playing some decent rugby I’m quite surprised by that if true. We almost finished 9th but for a golden point loss.
Suppose we should wait for confirmation or not but it appears something wasn’t right up until last 6/7 games of the season when there was a distinct turn around in form and how we were playing.
Suppose still just rumour at this stage.

| The club have just announced it.
I did hear rumours (that I didn't want to post at the time) that certain players who have now left voiced their frustrations to the BOD regarding the standard of coaching.

| Well great! I hope they've already plugged that gap.
Otherwise we are even further behind.

| Wasn't expecting that, feel for Poching if I'm honest. He's was left with a right mess to sort and yes performances dropped off significantly mid season but collectively they did what could reasonably be expected last year. Anyhow it's just made recruitment that bit more difficult.
Mash to first team coach?!

Me too but give the coach a d players some credit once we hit rock bottom the team clearly decided to play.
There have been threads alluding to the issues I was told about not by anyone official I might add.

| He’s a strange bloke is Carter, won’t get rid of a coach whose winning % is something like 18% with players he’s either brought in himself or at least worked with for a couple of seasons. Then sacks a club favourite whose winning record is in the high 30s% whose had to deal with the wreckage and bad recruitment left behind by former coach.
Willies got the best out of the young Academy lads who’ve stepped up, Murphy has said in interviews that after Leeds he worked with the coaching staff to improve his game. Corey Hall was thrown in early after Tupou and Lyne were injured and he’s been a revelation even when asked to play 2nd row. Kershaw has come back from major injury to look assured and perform better than ever and Jack Croft has started to look the part of a SL player.
So many times we’ve seen players who are leaving put their feet up and go through the motions but Willie got them to pull together and give us their best through to the end of the season.
IMO Willie has earned the right to recruit his own players and have a season coaching on a level playing field, free from the handicaps of Chester’s regime.
Even if we bring in Jason Demitriou to replace him, it’s a tough call on Willie Poching

Just for clarity he has not been sacked he was signed for 12 months with a review, they have done the review and they are not extending his tenure, about 2 months ago a lot of fans felt the same!

I thought the roller coaster was slowing down. Never a dull moment being a Wakey fan.

So they’ve sacked him then!
Let’s not bandy words or hide behind semantics, they’ve told him his services as Head Coach are no longer required, so sacked him

Maybe the players who were allegedly disgruntled with the standard of coaching took their bats home mid-season which resulted in the slump and then voiced their concerns to the B.O.D who promised to release Poching and Cummins at the end of the season, so said disgruntled individuals then started playing again ??
Pure speculation on my part obviously but it would explain why the season panned-out like it did
