Delighted to see Kershaw back in.
He's no TJ but is oddly better suited to the team and what pass as the tactics we have now have. The kid has guts and isn't phased and will run his blood to water.
Hope I have not jinxed him.

We are pretty decimated aren’t we.
Injured or unavailable…
Jowitt
Johnstone
Tupou
Lyne
Lineham
Taufua
Tanivalu
Kay
Pitts
Tanginoa
Adebiyi
Minns?
Kershaw - yet to make a SL return from his acl (hopefully vs Cas). Really looking forward to his powerful runs too!
That’s an absolutely sickening list and we’ve endured numerous other absentees through the season.
Still, I’ll be cheering them on like crazy vs Cas as always. The effort vs Saints was nothing short of excellent. It’s not hard to see why we’ve struggled this year. For 2/3 seasons now we seem to pick up too many injuries.
Cas have a number of injuries too. Local derby so will be a good game!

Edited for accuracy
A fair few of those were none starters and that sadly includes Bill.
In which case I don't think we are that decimated tbh, no more than most tbh.
Of those only Kay and Lyne being out are causing serious issue. Tanginoa has improved but he can be covered as can Pitts.
What I'm saying is no excuses, there is enough there to play a decent game.

That’s still 7 out of the match day squad. Tupou I put in because if not for his injury he would have been playing without doubt and we are paying him.
It’s not an excuse and I’m glad the club don’t use it as an excuse.
It’s just almost every time before we play a team the opposition are bleating about injuries (Salford, Saints, Cas etc) yet we just get on with it facing the very same adversity. It annoys me how we get labelled by some as a game we should win because the opposition are injury hit yet don’t consider we are down on troops too.
I’m sure it’ll be a decent game and we can come away with the points. I’m inclined to be optimistic after last weeks effort too.
I’m looking forward too the game. I can see a close one.

If it hadn't have been for Tupou's injury then we wouldn't have signed Taufua so the pair of them kind of count for one injury overall. Only one would have ever been playing, it could have never been both.
Other teams bleating about injuries is because they have had injuries, it's not just us. Pretty much all teams have had plenty of players out and some still still do. What tends to happen is they handle it better than we do. The teams we have had out have been good enough to pick up more points than we have and i'm sruggling to think of a time we've had to consistently pick players in a position thats alien to them, it's the performances that just haven't been good enough.

But that is part of the issue for us.
Missing 2 is bad. Missing 2 in same position means you have your 3rd choice playing.
All our injuries are in the backs. Makes it tough to cover.

| But on Friday, its about the players on the field, not the injuries.
They need our support and they need to be at their best and focused.

Which is exactly the same for a lot of teams. Our opponents on Friday have exactly the same problem with fullback/stand off with at least 5 players out who play those positions. It happens, it’s how you deal with it that counts.

Interesting you've picked Gaskell above Miller, you fearing a conflict of interest?

Centre is a tough one. Gaskell played really well in centre vs saints so it’s going to be difficult to choose between him and hall. I’d probably go Hall with the fresh legs.
