Agreed. Is this an admission that Butler was ah poor signing? Might as well give Aydin and Shaw run outs instead.

Josh Simm has just gone on loan to Wire. We massively missed that boat.

Aydin and Shaw aren’t even getting runs at Sheffield strangely.

Butler has been okay. He was solid against Wigan without doing anything special. In my opinion he needs a strict and heavy pre season for fitness and weights. He clearly lacks match fitness but it’s too early to judge just yet imho.

If this is true if i was Aydin i’d be running for the hills, think his contracts up isn’t it?

Given Fifita, Arona & Whitbread are shoe-in’s for 3 of the prop spots then for Aydin, Battye & Butler are every bit as good as Bowden for the other place. Shaw let nobody down when he got a got either. Will see if it happens but it would smack of panic and desperation if so.

Remember Shaw playing at Catalan and from what I saw that day he seemed to offer more than anything I have seen from Butler

Why would a team struggling with injuries and suspensions allow a player to leave albeit one they have been hawking around the leagues for quite sometime.

Completely agree. Thought he had a good game. The problem is, half the people making comments about Butler don’t know their a*se from their elbow when talking about RL! The poor lads career took a huge hit due to Covid and he hasn’t been given the game time or opportunities to get back on track. He played in the England knights squad at 21 after his first season in SL. There’s no way his career peaked there. Reckon he will prove to be solid signing next year.

6’2” experienced prop playing for a contract for 2023.

I can’t see why issue with him coming in short term, and maybe longer should he go well.

He certainly won’t harm the squad.

Think the issue issue is some think we should be signing luke thompson and josh papali ,bowden on loan for reat of season vould be good for me yes i like shaw and aydin but bowden has over 160 games in sl to his name experience could be vital

A bit of a similar story, both looked great in 2016/17, but picked up too many injuries. I honestly can't remember Bowdens last good game, probably 4 years ago. The fact we have just had two props suspended and we are releasing him, probably tells its own story.
