So yes we lost again which is per norm to be fair(8 wins in 41) but how bad was it or how do we improve.
Leeds are a good side but where there for the taking today with there halves and back line so for me its definitely 2 pts lost.saying that the ref didnt help and we definitely had our chances the billy pass(had he dummied and got tackled people would say why didnt he pass) the tangata drop ball 10 meters off line (leeds scored there winner later and the lynne forward ish pass if it was.

Tom johnstone is a super star his first try was pure quality

I thought with what he had cc team selection wasnt bad i questioned why ashurst started ahead of batch but in the game i soon saw ashurst is better.i also called for crowther to be at 9 but he isnt a 9 and shoulsnt play there the distribution from the ruck from both him and josh was poor.(not knocking jordan his tackeling is spot on and at end of day he aint a hooker so not right to judge him)

Going forward and wigan game hopefull they down on players again but believe bevan and deffo hastings will be back.we need a win soo for confidence.for us battye for tangata jowitt for walker k wood for josh or jordan and fot hampshire in too..all fitness providing

Future recruitment deffo need another prop end of yes battye to come but we really lack some go forward at times also hooker like josh defensively but his attack lacks.

Thought Walker looked more solid yesterday although he’s third choice for me behind Jowitt and Hampshire.
Despite a poor start yesterday we showed resolve and I think our completion then for the next 20 minutes was very good, still need to improve last tackle plays.
Chester needs to play the Woods at hooker in tandem when both fit and get Crowther in the back row again. My instinct is he won’t though.
We concede so many soft tries and so often the opposition don’t have to work for their points. Was the same yesterday.

,it was a match we should have one . The half are coming in for stick again about been tired after 60 mins ,a attacking 9 would could take pressure of them .I would rest Crowther and Wood from 9 and bring in K Wood, and Hampshire if fit. Walker did ok but would bring Jowitt in .A lot of positive and we were playing football

If Chester plays anything other than Woods x2 in rotation at 9 if everybody is fit then that alone should be enough for him to go.

It was a missed chance yesterday for me, we did the hard work (and played some decent off the cuff stuff at times) but that last few minutes of the first half effectively sealed our fate.

On reflection I thought when we went 16-4 up our game management was yet again shocking to go in at half time losing was mental. Thought miller was brilliant& obviously Topou and Johnstone.
Crowther not good enough for a start and why he played 65 mins at hooker and wood only 15 god only knows distribution was like treacle I don't see what others see in Crowther never have done.
Green, tangata not good enough. Leeds didn't do enough to.win thought the referee was poor no way that pen count was justified, the Topou incorrect play the ball decision was shocking.
That was a poor Leeds side same fundamentals of last year were lacking. I think we looked slightly better due to miller looking much better.

Tangata didn’t get much opportunity for me but I thought Green needed to run his weight a bit more. I’m willing to give these guys a chance though. It’s the first game of the season and I don’t think anybody played particularly bad. There’s certainly something to work on and we actually did play some good football in parts. The ball movement across the line was very good in places giving good ball to the left particularly in space.

Add in a Jowitt, Wood and Battye and tweak a few things and I can see us getting something from the Wigan game.

I'm definitely not a fan of Crowther at 9 but needs must, hes definitely more effective in the back row. I'm certainly more concerned with our front row, Green has not done much since we signed him after his impressive loan period. Tangata seems to have been signed on the back of one impressive performance for Halifax in the CC. He hasn't got the metal for week to week SL. I'm really surprised we used our resources on signing another half back when it's common knowledge our pack is beaten for most of the game. Its getting a little bit repetitive just coming short in these games when we have to fish out the positives only to get a thumping the week after.

I would beg to differ in regard to Miller. How can he be brilliant and yet our game management be shocking ?
He's our captain, senior pro and main half back. I do not doubt his effort but his decision making, skill levels and leadership leave much to be desired.

Think we did need a new half back ,the way Lino showed the ball slowed down the play to put Miller through a gap was something I have not seen from a half at Wakefield for years.Hope Battye can give use more punch up front .Think one of the main problem yesterday was Crowther, and Batchaler been on the pitch together.Compare to most S L clubs think they are too light weight to be on the pitch at the same time or the 17 .We could also get more grunt in the pack when Pitts returns .

Not so sure we need a new half pairing. There was enough in the game to show it can be a successful pairing with more work on last tackle kicks. I think needs must with Crowther but the first signing this offseason needs to be a quality 9.

Pitt’s I would hardly associate with “grunt”. Think that’s clutching as he’s just a solid second rower for me who won’t break many tackles but offer solid performances.

Although I’m not an advocate for Kalepi at prop it may be a needs must if we can’t get Green or Tangata to find some form which they have their chance this coming weeks.

Honestly I think Jowitt, Wood and Battye will make a big difference. No player should be down after that as none were “poor”. There is something to build on and if we build on the little things we can pick up some wins shortly.

There was a lot of positive to work on, Think in second half we were the better footballing side ,even though Leeds had a lot more ball ,We wasted 3 good chances and held them to one try .Watched the rugby to day and Warrington got pulled up for pinching the ball Yesterday Leeds got away with it twice The one on T J was a disgrace .Think it's going to be down to the refs interpretation of the rule .Do not think that's good for the game ,and will slow the play the ball .

The ball steal is in the rules. They just played it better than us.

Fair point but for me miller is never a captain not on a million years another Chester error. Miller was far better and taken line on of old.
