My further thoughts are about our kicking game in the first half. Too many easy kicks that were straight to Hull players. They were returning them with ease into a broken defensive line, and were on the front foot from tackle 1.

Kicking it dead would probably be more effective. I know they get 7 tackles, but at least we can set our defensive line.

One big lad is Lyne. How can someone with such a physique lose the ball so easily and regularly in the tackle? I know we got back in the game but I thought his ball spill at 18-20 gave Hull the leg up they needed,

Do not think it is fair to blame Lyne for getting Hull back in the game .It was when the Hull player was allowed to run across the field going past at least 6 Wakefield players to set up the try in the second half .l was at that end and any of those 6 players could have made a attempted to tackel him .It was like watching the Chuckle Brothers from me to you ext

Fairly sure it was Josh Jones. The guy is a nightmare to tackle and has always made excellent metres after contact, which is presumably why Hull signed him from Salford ?
Let's just admit that he is a quality player and would have no doubt done the same to any team last night

Well at least with people blaming the ref, it gives the 'we're not fit enough' excuse a break but I'm sure it'll be back, as popular as ever later in the season!

Hull fan in peace. Game of 2 halfs IMO. We should have put the game out of sight first half. You could easily have won the match though. Johnstone is one hell of a finisher. Both teams looked good in parts and awful in other times. Think you will do well this year.

2 points not won because of our own errors.

Regarding the kicking, I’d let Jowitt kick for touch every time. He took us 50 yards down field with the one he did.

It's difficult because he 'hides' for five tackles then pops up to kick it.

As fil has alluded to josh jones is a nightmare to wrestle to the floor, at times we had 3 men on him and couldn’t put him down, which then opens up the field for them from the quick play the balls that ensued.
Thought we also let sneed run the show and didn’t move up to cut him out ,or at least get someone in his face to cut down his time on the ball.Nit picking I know ,but don’t get me started on kick offs ,it’s like an unwritten rule that every team kicks off to the best ball handler on the oppositions side ,what’s up with kicking to a prop or second row .

thought our fitness was signigicantly better than hull, if we’d played an extra ten minutes rather than sudden death we’d have mullered them

Said this after the game. Even another 5 minutes, or a couple of sets and I think we had enough left in the tank. As it was we didn't even have a say in Golden Point.
