| It's the same application as before isn't it? It was stated at the time that it would come back to the commitee as it was classed as 'minded to refuse' so there will have been some legalities to check before the decision can be signed off completely. Usually nothing more than a box ticking exercise to ensure no comeback on the council. Doubt it will be a problem.
*Edit*
From the previous meeting minutes...
[iMinded to Refuse for the reasons set out below, but that a report would be prepared for the next appropriate Committee meeting setting out the final wording of the proposed reasons and whether those reasons were clear and relevant planning grounds to justify the decision.[/i

| It's a way of getting found the previous refusal by slightly varying details & named applicant, also if all was genuine by forecourt owners, who may have sold this plot to the new name, why don't they - applicants/owner, place a bond monies to the new stadium @ Belle vue, to a bank trust, let the Grin continue to plan & build, they then apply for planning permission, granted by the council, all is happy - no more games, we all love on - get on with life.
The problem still is that Yorkcourt are not genuine & never intend to be. Next problem the council and & abet Yorkcourt by not playing straight !
Back to square one lads !

Interesting how they say 'the committee has to consider the decision again because its makeup has changed since the election and some members have been replaced' - so basically they removed the people who opposed and replaced them with some minions who will bend over? Probably hoping aswell that the loan to buy back Belle Vue will keep us sweet and avoid further objection - but what about the actual stadium we were promised?!

| Spot on Jizzer, Box didn't get his way last time so he has simply removed the Councillors from the planning committee who refused to play ball with him. As we know if Councillors and staff do not do exactly what Box says then they are toast. it will get passed and Box`s mates at Yorkcourt will get the stand alone planning approved without having to pay a single cent towards a Community Stadium and the precedent set for the rest of the site to be developed on the same terms. Talk about Rotten Borough. Classic Box tactic of bringing this to public with only 5 working days notice. What is amazing is that this labour leader and his yes men cronies are happy to use all their power to ensure that a multi millionaire developer gets the opportunity to make millions at the expense of providing a Community Stadium for the people of Wakefield who they purport to represent.

| Winds me right up that this is still going on, the longer it goes on the more it stinks. Interesting aswell that this was taken off the agenda in April because of 'imminence of local elections' - so basically it's written that the Council will give Yorkcourt their way and don't want this to effect elections. Also taken off the agenda in March because 'legal advice on the matter was not received on time' - maybe this is the same legal advice that the council have been talking about for years without any evidence of it, since the triggers to the original stadium app were bypassed. Time to kick up another fuss I reckon.

| What effect does the loan from the council, to buy BV, have on the Newmarket issues.
The Trust seem to have been exceptionally quiet since the loan was given or, did I miss something ?

Depends on the outcome. Whilst hearing the application in full again doesn't sound great it would make the council look at best extremely incompetent and at worst rather dodgy if all of sudden they changed the decision the original commitee made. The previous objections still count and will be taken into account and there has been no further information from Yorkcourt to remedy those objections so at this point you would have to hope the outcome would be the same. It does though delay things further either way.

| How do you fund Court action ? £ 50,000 would be needed just to get started then perhaps £ 250,000. The loan has nothing to do with Newmarket, Council have made a loan to the club on commercial terms.

It does seem a tad quiet doesn't it, maybe things are progressing behind the scenes, they could be at a critical point with all the wheeler dealings going on.
Maybe it's best to enjoy the R.L. season on the field & let 'em get on with it.

SC
Well if you look at the latest planning officer recommendations it strongly suggests he wants the decision overturned and makes a very strong case for it in his summary.
Also for those that attended the original meeting, I am sure you will have been impressed by councillor Swift who was the lead voice of the opposition to this and the man who made it happen. This was done against very strong opposition from the chair of planning and the legal officer.
THE INTERESTING BIT ! councillor Swift is no longer of the planning committee, make of that what you will.
Any good book maker would give extremely long odds on the original refusal standing
